Experience
Assistant Professor of Medicine, Taibah University, Madinah. KSA
( 2008 - present)
soon after I started my career as an assistant professor in internal medicine I was granted a
scholarship to pursue further training in Endocrinology. During the short period I spent in the
department of internal medicine “approximately six months” I practiced undergraduate
teaching in the form of routine lectures, tutorials, bedside clinical sessions and participated in
examining undergraduate medical students both third and fourth year. I also had the
opportunity to be the exam organizer for the third year medical students for one term before I
leave the department for my scholarship during which I was responsible for arranging both
written and clinical exams, allocating clinical cases, inviting external examiners and
organizing all logistic needs.

Assistant Professor of Medicine, Taibah University.
Endocrinologist (McGill Fellowship).
Clinical Fellow, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec. Canada
( July 2008 - July 2010)
Started July 1st 2008 as a clinical fellow in the department of Endocrinology at McGill Uni-

search in the field of endocrinology. this is achieved through rotations in the McGill university
health centers and its’ affiliated hospitals.
I was involved in couple of research projects, the main project was on studying the molecular
genetics of thyroid cancer with special focus on BRAF expression which is still ongoing and
hopefully would be able to analyze some cell membrane proteins. I had the opportunity as
well to write up the proposal for a randomized control trial which studies vitamin D effect in
statin induced myopathy group of patients compared to placebo. this project was approved
by health Canada and McGill ethics committee and will start soon.
Teaching experience at McGill:
I had the opportunity to participate in undergraduate teaching, for example:
• Gave Interactive lectures to clerk students as part of their curriculum :
• Hypertension management
• Diabetes mellitus type 2 management in ambulatory care
• Dyslipidemia management
• Approach to Goitre and thyroid nodules
• I was responsible for one group of students “moderation, supervision, evaluating
students and marking the quizzes” in Unit 4 Endocrinology-small group teaching tuto-
rials as part of Medicine-I curriculum. A total of 6 tutorials covering Diabetes, Thy-
roid, Growth, Adrenal, Pituitary, covering both physiology and disease. also cov-
ered other disorders affecting endocrine physiology eg. obstructive sleep apnea. each
group consisted of 14 student.
