Martin Kampel was born in Steyr, Austria, in 1968. He received the B.Sc. in Data Technologies andComputer Science, the M.Sc. degree (Diplom Ingenieur) in Computer Science (Computer Graphics,Pattern Recognition and Image Processing) in 1999, the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 2003and the Venia docendi in 2009 both from the Vienna University of Technology.
He is part time researcher at the Computer Vision Lab, Vienna University of Technology engagedin research, project coordination, industry consulting, and teaching. His main research interests areComputer Vision focusing on applied research and technology transfer. Additionally he is CEO atapp informatics zt gmbh engaged in ICT project reviews and consultancy. He is a legally swornand certified expert witness for computer vision (allgemein beeideter und gerichtlich zertifizierterSachverstaendiger) and a chartered engineering consultant for computer science (Ing. Kons. f. Infor-matik). He is author or co-author of more than 100 scientific peer reviewed publications presentedat several international conferences and workshops and is a member of the IAPR and the IEEE.
