Liason between vessels and charterers. Vessels engaged in all offshore roles including Straight supply, anchor handling and towing, FPSO support, R.O.V. support and subsea completion and control buoy intervention.

Mooring Master

For an early production system offshore Thailand. Duties included:- Assessing mooring system and developing strategies to deal with identified

possible scenarios. Berthing and unberthing of export tanker. Safety inspections of Export Tanker Safety of the tanker for the duration of export. Management of Export to Tanker. Management of maintenance of all field assets. Safe mooring of other marine units for specific projects.

FPS Master

For an early production system offshore Thailand.Management of all aspects of production from a floating production vessel includingmanagement of environmental conditions with particular emphasis on:-

Safety of personnel transfers. Safety of the export tanker and safety of the production vessel and platform

structure.


Management of production with particular regard to H2S levels and flaring of gas production.

Management of on board safety including developing safe working practices in an evolving work environment, maintaining safe working practices and instilling in the work force the desire to approach all tasks with a safe attitude and with safety in its correct perspective.

Offshore Vessels

A.H.T.S. of up to 17,900 Bhp working with Drill Ships, Semi-subs, Drill Tenders, Pipelay and derrick barge/crane ships.

Towing barges of various sizes, including preparation for ocean tow and mooring/unmooring using barge 4 pt. mooring.

Ocean towing (up to 3200'). Dive support vessels. Dive support for pipeline hookup, platform and bottom

surveys. Air and Sat diving. Well stimulation, via rigs and platform workover. Platform topside installation and testing. Oilfield supply and commissary vessel.

Areas worked:- S.E.Asia, Middle East, Brazil, North Sea, Irish Sea, West Africa, South Africa

Of 150,000 DWT carrying crude oil. Offshore Indonesia as part of Ardjuna Oilfield storage system. Vessel permanently connected to SBM and either receiving production or exporting to tankers.

17th July 1985 Commenced employment with North Sea Logistics Ltd. as Second Officer.

15th July 1986 Made redundant due to closure of UK subsidiary in a reorganization of American parent company.

July 1986 - Dec 1986 Employed on a temporary basis as Second Officer by Tarmac Marine to Gain sea time.

INTERESTS OUTSIDE MY WORK:

I have had a keen interest in sailing since the age of twelve. During my residence in North Wales, prior to moving to the South of England, I was member of the Royal Welsh Yacht Club and the Port Dinorwic Sailing Club. I was involved as a committee member of the RNLI Fundraising Branch for our local area for many years. With my wife I currently own a yacht in Port Elizabeth and are members of Algo Bay Yacht Club. My wife and I support the club in various social capacities.

Other voluntary work has included working with the Scout Group and whilst residing in Singapore, fund raising for a local Singapore charity, The Toa Payoh and Gaylang Senior Citizen Health Care Centres. Also fundraising cycling events for the Mission to Seamen Singapore .

My other hobbies are Cycling, Swimming, Natural History, Hill Walking, Historic buildings and Monuments and Industrial Archeology and Railways. I am currently Safety and Operations Secretary of the Apple Express Volunteers which provides the voluntary support for the operation of the Apple Express heritage railway in Port Elizabeth.
