VI. Provide Support/Cover For Neurosurgical Services In Elective And Emergency Situations. This is the only Neurosurgical Unit in the East Coast of Peninsula Malaysia which handles a very heavy clinical load of neurotrauma. Neurosurgical Unit in the Dept of Surgery is the central component of the newly established Neuroscience Unit in the School of Medical Sciences, USM. Examples of Combined clinical cases : Anterior approaches to the cervical and thoracic spines in cases of thyroid cancers and tuberculosis and Laparoscopic approach to salvage VP shunt

VII. Provide Support/Cover For Urological Services In Emergency Situations.
