Career Overview

2010 – Present ~ joined the Rail Services Division of Rhomberg Rail as a Senior Track Designer.

Primary responsibility / accountability is to produce practical / economical / compliant permanent way design solutions that meet the client’s specifications, expectations and budgets without compromising safety

Developing practical permanent way designs, construction support, as-built design documentation including horizontal and vertical track geometry and special trackwork design solutions, earthworks modelling, transit space investigations (platform, kinematic analysis), programming, and documentation for the various design projects undertaken by Rhomberg Rail

Over the last year, is currently involved in developing / establishing a Rail Asset Management system, including an AMP in conjunction with PN, for the Port Kembla Rail network.

2007-2010 ~ Senior / Principle Track Design Engineer – Maunsell / AECOM

Track alignment design, technical reviews and verification for small and large rail projects in Australia and overseas in Hong Kong (high speed line). Transit space (including platform analysis) and kinematic envelope determination, Earthworks modelling, dual gauge turnout geometry designs, feasibility studies, concept and detail design.

2002 – 2007 ~ Applications Analysis – RailCorp

Support, Development and management of the RailCorp design engineering CAD environment whilst developing programs / routine to enhance the design process.

2001 ~ Track Designer : Joint Venture Leighton’s (Hong Kong -Tun Mun Light Rail Project)

Developed track layout designs for construction staging through complex road junctions (Horizontal /Vertical), provided design verification for construction, clearance analysis, and varying track structures review
