Invention Inquiry CourseStudents from remote rural areas are the target group for this course. Althoughthey seldom have a chance to learn about the invention field, they can enhancetheir creative thinking power by visiting research institutes and participating invarious invention-related activities.

Target: students from remote rural areasDuration and class size: a three-day course held four times a year for 30

participants per course.

On-site Invention CourseThis course is tailored for participants with specific demands in inventioneducation. The participants are not required to attend the Invention EducationCenter in the city of Daejeon; rather, invention teachers will visit a site nominatedby the participants and help them focus on specific areas of interest.

Target: the general public from anywhere in the country Duration and class size: a one-day (or more) course held 100 times a year for 40

participants per course.

Invention Experience CourseThis course offers a variety of hands-on activities in the Invention ExperiencePavilion. In the pavilion, participants can experience a wide range of inventiveactivities and tools.

Target: the general public from anywhere in the country Duration and class size: a one-day course held at any time of the year.

Invention Experience FestivalThis festival offers many exciting activities related to inventions. At the displaybooths, participants can enjoy experiencing inventions and participating in a varietyof family contests. University students from various nations run the booths to giveparticipants a practical experience of inventions.

Target: the general public from anywhere in the country Duration: a one-day event held in May each year.

Invention Camp for Students and ParentsThe camp was developed for elementary students and their parents. It helps themexpand their basic knowledge of the invention field. During the camp, participantsmake interesting inventions, such as water rockets.

Target: elementary school students and their parentsDuration and class size: a three-day event held once a year during the summer

vacation for 60 participants.

Educators and Invention PromotionThe aim of this course, which focuses on topics such as the policy of promotingstudent invention and basic theories of invention, is to help school principals andsenior supervisors understand the necessity of invention.

Target: school principals, senior supervisors of the Office of Education, and so on. Duration and class size: a three-day course held six times a year for 60

participants per course.

Education for Invention TeachersThis course covers topics such as theories on invention education and the practiceof invention. It offers invention teachers from elementary, middle, and high school asound basis for invention education.

Target: elementary, middle, and high school teachers Duration and class size: a 10-day course held once a year for 60 participants.

Training for Teachers of Children Gifted in InventionBy highlighting theories on the education of children gifted in invention as well asother topics such as how to recognize gifted children, this course offers a soundeducational basis for teachers of gifted children who excel in the field of invention.

Target: elementary, middle, and high school teachersDuration and class size: a 10-day course held once a year for 60 participants.

Pedagogical Practice for School Invention ProgramsFor teachers experienced in running invention classes or invention clubs, thiscourse offers a chance to acquire advanced knowledge about the invention field. Italso helps teachers exchange information and share ideas.

Training Course for Novice Invention Teachers This course equips novice invention teachers with basic knowledge and casestudies on the management of invention classes.

Development of Invention Education Programs The aim of this course is to enhance the capabilities of elementary, middle, andhigh school teachers who have completed on-the-job training in inventioneducation. The course focuses on techniques for developing invention educationprograms, as well as relevant case studies and so on.

Target: elementary, middle, and high school teachers who have completed 60hours of on-the-job raining in invention education.

Duration and class size: a five-day course held once a year for 30 participants.

Junior Invention Leaders This course is a primer for students who are creative and competent in the field ofinvention. The topics include creativity, invention experience and so on.

Target: elementary, middle, and high school students recommended by theirschool

Duration and class size: a three-day course held 10 times a year for 30participants per course.

Junior Invention Masters By helping students to participate in several invention projects, this courseenhances the capability of students so that they can think synthetically with the aidof various thinking techniques, such as mind-mapping and brain storming.Through these techniques, the students can accomplish a variety of invention tasks.

Creative Problem Solving The aim of this advanced course is to help students use creative thinking as ameans of developing their problem-solving capabilities. Topics include theapplication of engineering knowledge and TRIZ (the theory of inventive problemsolving).

Duration and class size: a three-day course held four times a year for 30participants per course.

Patent Descriptions This highly advanced course is for high school students. The aim of the course is togive participants sufficient practical training in preparing a patent description sothat they can apply their acquired knowledge to get a patent license.

Invention Education CenterThe Invention Education Center was established in December 2005 with the goal of fostering creative and inventive individualswho will lead the knowledge-based society of the twenty-first century. In cooperation with municipal and provincial education agencies, the Invention Education Center nominates gifted students andteachers who excel in the field of invention and provides them with professional and systematic invention education. Thenominees are from elementary, middle and high schools, especially from school invention clubs and invention classes, all overthe country.In addition, the Invention Education Center earnestly endeavors to offer comprehensive support for invention education bydeveloping and disseminating a variety of invention education programs and materials.

Invention-Experience PavilionThe Invention Education Center has an Invention Experience Pavilion where students canfamiliarize themselves with various inventions. With 30 different tools, the pavilion givesparticipants an invention experience and helps them fulfill their dreams of being an inventor.
