Customer Spotlight: Creative Cabinet Designs of Yakima

Creative Cabinet Designs (CCD) has been designing and selling creative storage solutions in the Yakima Valley of Washington State for over 10 years. Owners Brenda and Lee have been in the cabinet industry for 35 years, providing hands-on service to residential and commercial property owners.

From kitchen, bathroom and custom home remodeling to commercial cabinet projects, Lee and Brenda’s focus is on meticulous workmanship combined with exceptional customer service. Whether it’s a small job in a bathroom or an extensive project with a custom home remodel, they have the skills to design, price and build the project from start to finish. To help get the project rolling, CCD offers an in-home consultation where they take the time to listen and understand the homeowner’s needs. They’ll review the client’s design ideas and take on-site measurements. They’ll provide advice on how to sift through the choices and pick the right cabinets for their customer’s budget, ensuring that the color and style matches the rest of the home. Once the selections have been made, they will provide a personalized cabinet design for each customer to create the most functional and attractive space, using a wide range of cabinetry products. They have built up a team of subcontractors that provide the countertops and installation, so there is a turnkey process to help ensure that customer expectations are met and completed to their satisfaction.

Brenda and Lee have also developed a strong network of builders who provide them with a steady stream of repeat business for kitchen design and cabinetry. Additionally, client and trade referrals have helped to grow the business into the Yakima Valley’s premier source for cabinet designs.

CCD has been an exclusive dealer for Canyon Creek since 2007 and has a beautiful, recently remodeled 1,500 SF showroom that displays a variety of cabinet selections and combinations. According to Canyon Creek regional manager Roy Cook: “Lee and Brenda have a long history with Canyon Creek and are a pleasure to work with. They take care of their customers and generate an incredibly high sales volume for just a two-person team.”

How To Waste Less Food

Meal planning: Know exactly what you’ll need before you go shopping. Write down all the meals you plan to make for the week and what ingredients you will need.

Place grocery receipt on the refrigerator: Once you have all the groceries put away, tape the receipt on the refrigerator. That way you can see exactly what you bought. Make sure you highlight any perishable items that you’ll need to use right away.

Shop for produce weekly: Fruits and vegetables tend to be the first items to go bad. By shopping for these items weekly, you’ll buy less at a time and end up using more.

Have a few “dump meals” ready: Frittatas, pasta salads, soups, and stir-fries are all great options for using up the random food you have left over. Old bread is perfect for homemade croutons and vege-tables can be used to make your own stock.

It can be extremely frustrating to spend a bunch of money on groceries only to use three quarters of what you bought. Here are tips to help you utilize food before it goes bad.

News, Tips & Trends

Do Kitchens Really Need Exhaust Fans?Older homes are often grandfathered into building codes that existed when the home was built. Many times this means they have no ventilation at all, much less kitchen exhaust fans. If you are upgrading a home, it’s important to consider these cooking byproducts and what they can do to your home when allowed to linger.

When there isn’t an exhaust fan to remove steam and grease while cooking, it ends up evaporating into the air, coating the ceiling, wall, cabinets and more.

Exhaust fans help eliminate cooking odors by replacing the smelly air with fresh air.

Even the smallest amount of smoke can set off the smoke detector. Pulling the smoke out of the kitchen will keep things quiet and clean.

There are many pollutants that are released when you cook with a gas stove. Without an exhaust fan, there is no way to suck them up.
