Hardware

Hardware costs are calculated based on the costs of purchasing or leasing devices and their associatedaccessories over the entire length of ownership.

Cost per Page/ Cost per Click Agreements

When calculating supplies-based cost per page agreements (CPP), gap intelligence includes 'Ship with'consumables such as toner, drums and kits and calculates actual consumable replacement costs based onvariable average monthly print volume (AMPV), average page coverage, and length of ownership. gapintelligence does not arrive at total costs by extrapolating a hypothetical cost per page over time and overpage volumes. Instead, the results reflect total supplies replacement costs, which can be averaged over timeto produce a cost per page that is unique to a customer's environment.

When calculating Cost per Click (CPC) agreements, gap intelligence applies a device's actual agreed-upon orproposed all-inclusive CPC rates to its average monthly click volume (AMCV) and length of ownership. CPCrates cover the cost of all consumables and maintenance, but are not impacted by consumable usage.

Supplies

gap intelligence collects consumable yield information directly from each manufacturer at the time of deviceintroduction. gap intelligence does not test or validate manufacturer yield claims. Instead all calculations arebased on manufacturer-stated yields to reflect how each product solution is conveyed and positioned tocustomers.

Paper costs are based on either a typical industry rate or a client-specific cost that is applied to an averagemonthly sheet volume (AMSV) and length of ownership. A sheet is defined as an A4 or letter-sized pageproduced in either simplex or duplex mode. All A3 or ledger-size pages produced contribute two sheets tothe AMSV due to their two-times larger size than A4 or letter-sized pages.

Service Pricing

In cost per page (CPP) agreements, service pricing is represented as a manufacturer-branded extendedwarranty pack in increments of 1 to 5 years. When possible, we use Onsite Next-Business Day service as abenchmark. If such a service plan is not available then the analysis looks at Exchange or Return to Depotservice. All service pricing comes from manufacturer Web sites, or if unavailable, as MSRP quoted by channeldealers.

Cost per Click (CPC) agreements include the cost of service and supplies as a standard part of their usagecosts and therefore do not require the purchase of a separate warranty pack.

Environmental Impact

Environmental information is based on a comparison of a client’s paper usage or average monthly sheetvolume (AMSV), comparing the total number of trees consumed and carbon produced based on industry-standard benchmarks.
