This course is an analysis of the phenomenon of fashion photography which emerged by the turn of this century. A study of the styles and means to produce the image for fashion are identified. Past and particularly current trends in fashion photography are analysed in the social context in order to predict future styles. The use of technology and digital media for fashion promotion is encouraged. The scope for future fashion imagery is considered

Weekly lectures form the basis for integrated self study. Case study work and factory visits will encourage critical thinking and enhance students analysis. Workshop sessions and tutorials compliment the design process as students explore design possibilities of footwear.
