Curriculum Vitae – Dr Muna Bhende

Dr Muna Bhende completed her MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore in

1988 and MS in Ophthalmology from Bangalore Medical College in 1992. She joined

Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai as a Vitreoretinal fellow in 1992 and subsequently

continued as a consultant in the Vitreoretinal services from 1994 .She has been a

recipient of the best VR fellow and best lady VR fellow awards in 1993. She currently

works as a senior consultant in the Vitreoretinal services and is actively involved in the

academic activities of the department as well. She has worked as a visiting scholar in the

Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2000.She has numerous publications in peer

reviewed journals and has been part of the team that has published the Sankara

Nethralaya atlases on Fundus FluoresceinAngiography, Ophthalmic Ultrasound and

UBM, and Retinal diseases. Her special interests include medical retina and retinal

imaging.
