A behavior chart is sent home daily in your child’s folder. It should be reviewed, signed, and returned daily.

Each student will start his/her clothespin on “Ready To Learn” each day. Throughout the day, students will be asked to move their clothespin up or down on the chart according to their behavior. If a student makes improved choices after moving their clip down, they will be given a chance to earn their clip back up.

At the end of the day, each student will color their daily behavior on their behavior chart. If students move their clip to yellow, orange, or red, we will write to explain why they moved their pin down.

With the CHAMPS program, each letter serves as a reminder to students of the type of behavior that should be seen in any given situation so that maximum learning, as well as a safe and caring environment will be displayed.

AR goals are set by the teacher each 6 WEEKS. Levels are based on in class observation and STAR Test results - which is a reading/comprehension test given to assess reading grade equivalency. Encourage them to bring home their library books to read so that they can take tests over the book to earn points.
