Bachelor’s thesis: “The Second Vampire – filles fatales in Sheridan Le Fanu’s Carmilla and Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire.” D essay: “The Wonderland Matrix – How a Victorian fairy tale is used to narrate cyberspace in Jeff Noon’s Automated Alice and American McGee’s Alice.”

Experience 2003 – present Freelance translator

Translating articles and longer documents for magazine and journal publishers, advertising bureaus, and directly to clients in the tourist industry, computer industry, museums and for in-service training purposes. Have also translated The Smurfs comic magazine from French to Swedish in the past, and one full-length novel, Derbyshire from Swedish into English.

Computer Skills Proficient in both Mac OSX and Windows environments running Microsoft Office and Wordfast (CAT tool). Have worked with Quark Xpress and Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Fluent in HTML and CSS.

Additional Information After graduating from high school I had temporary jobs as extra help at an old people’s home, daycare centre, supermarket and as a postman. Have also published essays, short stories and poems in various literary magazines and journals in Sweden, the UK and online. I am passionate about writing, languages and the intersections between these.

Interests Regularly attend the Gothenburg Book Fair and was part of a “host group” at the Malmö city library during high school. Have since regularly taken part in events at the library and beyond to promote reading. Other interests include creative writing, visiting art galleries, concerts and music festivals.
