BRETT’S FRIDAY NIGHT HYPEEric Koston 2: these shoes have many new features com-pared to the previous model, the first Eric Koston’s were one of the most comfortable skateboarding shoes made, the new Koston’s still have that great feel and flexibility. They are even better for du-rability they have a one piece toe cap with a small stitching near to the sole this is only for looks and doesn’t affect the durability to the shoe, the sides of the shoe are per-forated to allow more air in-side keeping your feet nice and cool even when shredding on a hot summers day the other part that keeps your feet cool it a really nice perforated mesh tongue this and the perforated sides keeps your feet as ven-tilated sand cool as possible.

Moving down the shoe the sole is a cup sole with zigzagged grooves underneath giving more flexibility to the shoe and keeps the shoes nice and light on the feet making sure you can feel your board as much as possible without loosing any durability or shock absorption if you take a look at the shock absorption this shoe does come with Lu-narlon inner soles that make great shock absorption and the shape keeps you feet inside the shoe at all times so no slipping shoes even when they are worn they will still feel and perform great. So to sum up a incredibly light shoe with great flexibil-ity and strength though I feel they are to similar to the Eric Koston one’s to make a entire new shoe out of but still and amazing shoe for skateboarding.

BRETT’S FRIDAY NIGHT HYPE

Lakai Carlo: These shoes bring some new features to the table of skateboarding shoes the first being that the have a combination of suede and canvas for looks, If we look on the top part of the shoe you will notice that it has a solid toe cap with double stitching for durability not as strong as the Erik Koston 2’s but still strong, These shoes have a very padded design on the tongue and on the collar this makes the shoes feel great and protect you from those fly in boards into your foot. The cushioned inner sole is removable witch is handy if you need to replace the sole not that you would need to because these soles are really padded al-most as much as some leading sole brands this adds to the comfort and feel of the shoes and helps from shock on feet and knees.

If we look at the lower part of the shoe you will see that the sole is very flexible this is because the shoe is a vul-canized construction allow-ing more board feel and not loosing any strength to the shoe on the underneath of the sole you see a very grippy rubber tread that keeps you on the board so no more slip-ping.so to sum up these shoes are very stylish grippy and perform well but I feel Lakai could have made the toe cap one piece but I believe they were going more for looks on this shoe maybe we will see this on a later shoe.
