As an existing Pipeline Pilot user, the Derek component can easily be integrated into existing protocols, removing the need to duplicate processes and provide increased efficiency through workflow automation.
Derek Web ServicesCollectively referred to as the Derek Web Services, Lhasa Limited offers two web service solutions that can be incorporated into efficient internal processes by automating Derek Nexus into an institutional workflow.
Derek Pipeline Pilot™Integration provides the user with the relevant components with which to build a Pipeline Pilot protocol thereby exposing the curated knowledge from Derek Nexus, within Pipeline Pilot. The ability to standardise and automate processes can lead to more efficient working practices.
Who is the Derek Pipeline Pilot™ Integration for?
Used by scientists wishing to integrate Derek predictions into existing processes, the Derek Pipeline Pilot Integration is suitable for use by anyone with experience of Pipeline Pilot.
Control Access
This could be restricting access to the application itself, for workflow management.
Single point of upgrade
Allowing easy deployment to all users.
Adapting the software to fit with internal workflows, means there is no need for modifying internal processes.
Derek Web ServiceThe service provides the user with a curated knowledge base and delivers results in a standardised (.xml) format. This gives users the flexibility to apply a front end that suits their needs for both pre- and post- processing in your chosen system(s). For example, there may be the need to restrict selection of compounds to those stored within a central database, to store results in a project specific folder or utilise KNIME within your automated Derek workflow.
Who is the Derek Web Service for?
Setup and development of a user interface requires some software development experience, however once setup is complete, the Derek Web Service is used by scientists across a range of industries.

• Playing a central role in eTOX by hosting and managing all the confidential data shared by the major pharmaceutical industries.
• Involvement in MIP-DILI, an EU project with the key aim of identifying a predictive screen to avoid liver injury.
• Lhasa Limited is also involved in and supporting cross-company learning through pre-competitive data sharing. These currently include excipients, intermediates, aromatic amines and aryl boronic acids.
Meteor NexusFor predicting metabolic fate
Meteor Nexus and Derek Nexus have been designed with integrated functionality. In many instances, the cause of toxicity can be related to metabolism. For this reason Lhasa Limited has integrated the two systems into the same platform, allowing searches against toxicity and metabolism to run concurrently.

Sarah NexusFor predicting mutagenicity
Lhasa offers a complete solution to meeting the ICH M7 guidelines by providing the expert system, Derek Nexus, and Sarah Nexus, a unique statistically based methodology. Access through a single interface allows easy input of structures for generation of independent predictions.
ViticFor managing chemical information
Vitic Nexus provides the largest non-confidential curated dataset of mutagens for Derek Nexus. Vitic Nexus is also used to facilitate data sharing initiatives between members, of which Boronic Acids, Vitic Intermediates, Vitic Excipients and Aromatic Amines are examples.
