Greetings, friends of Taekwondo!

I would like to welcome you all to the first Korean Consul-General Cup Taekwondo Championship in collaboration with the

2019 Dando Cup. It is my great pleasure to invite everyone to what I think will be an exciting tournament. My special thanks

goes to Dando for hosting and diligently organizing this event.

The Korean martial art of Taekwondo has long been popular worldwide for its physical and mental benefits, as it provides good

discipline not only for the body but also for the mind and soul of those practicing it. Taekwondo’s core values such as persever-

ance, humility, and courtesy make it an ideal sport for anyone who wishes to grow as a wholesome man and woman. This com-

petition will be a chance to showcase these great aspects of Taekwondo.

I look forward to meeting some of the brightest Taekwondo talents in person and cheering them on myself with their family and

friends.

RULES Head Contact

Full contact as per WT rules for ALL ELITE & DIVISION B CATEGORIES.

Head contact is forbidden for all other categories.

Mandatory Equipment

• Complete dobuk with colored belt, recognized by the F.T.Q (yellow, green, blue, red and black)

• Head gear white or matching color of chest protector • Mouth Guard mandatory for cadet, junior, senior divisions. (No colored mouth guards are

allowed, only full transparent or white) • Blue or Red reversible chest protector with shoulders and back protector • Arm Guards under the dobuk. Cloth protectors allowed for U7, U9 and YOUTH ONLY • Taekwondo gloves, white or matching color of chest protector, mandatory for all POOM and

DAN. ITF or boxing style will not be permitted • Groin Protection (for male and female) • Shin Guards, under the dobuk. Cloth shin guards are not allowed. • Full foot protection covering to tip of toes is mandatory for ALL. TKD socks are accepted.

ITF foot protectors are not allowed. Cloth foot protectors are accepted for U7, U9 and YOUTH ONLY.

• For POOMSAE competition, complete dobuk with colored belt, recognized by the F.Q.T (yellow, green, blue, red and black) are mandatory.

Only WT and F.Q.T approved equipment allowed in competitions. Other accepted equipment: • Arm with elbow under the dobuk • Cloth knee protectors, under the dobuk. No metal or plastic parts. • Sporting hijab, approved by the WT is tolerated under the Head Gear and the Dobuk
