Travelling in a Single stateroom means your table reservation is at the Britannia Restaurant for dinner, where grandeur and occasion combine with exceptional service. As a single traveller, you will usually be seated on a larger table allowing you to get to know your fellow guests. For breakfast and lunch you will be seated on a table of your preference – enjoy your own company, or sit on a larger table with other guests.

If you’re looking for something a little more casual, the breakfast, lunch, dinner or late-night buffet in the relaxed self-service Lido or Kings Court restaurant (depending on ship), is the perfect alternative. With cuisine options that take inspiration from around the world, you’ll always find something to tempt you.

The Golden Lion Pub is a Cunard favourite. Choose from a wide selection of beer, cider and wine to complement the delicious gastro pub style menus in a comfortable, traditional setting. Enjoy all the British pub essentials such as quizzes, live music and screens to show your favourite sporting events.

Alternatively, you can always order breakfast in bed or enjoy a quiet night in with a steak dinner from the comfort of your spacious stateroom – complimentary room service is available 24 hours a day.

A spacious and relaxing retreat, you’ll find your accommodation perfectly appointed. Single stateroom guests can enjoy all the luxuries of the Britannia experience including 24-hour room service, nightly turndown service with chocolate and fine Penhaligon’s toiletries. All Single staterooms are spacious and include one bed at a generous width of 120cm, and a bathroom with a shower and plenty of storage space in the wardrobe.

Single passengers wishing to travel in a double stateroom can pay the relevant sole-occupancy supplement.

Queen Mary 2 offers 15 Single Oceanview staterooms (from 178 sq. ft). Nine of these are on Deck 2 and benefit from increased ceiling height and an illuminated coffered ceiling. Six are located on Deck 3L and feature two circular windows with bench

seat cushions and a central dressing console table. These staterooms offer elegant and modern décor with fine details that pay tribute to the original Queen Mary’s iconic art deco heritage.

Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth both offer nine Single staterooms; eight are Oceanview staterooms with especially large windows (from 133 sq. ft.) and the ninth is an Inside (from 159 sq. ft.). On both ships

these are on Deck 2 midship and offer a central location close to many of the most popular public rooms - including the Royal Court Theatre and Queens Room.

From organised events to a host of daytime activities, travelling solo with Cunard opens up so many opportunities to brush up on existing talents, discover new ones and meet fellow travellers. The hardest decision will be what to do first. There is always a wide range of activities to enjoy both on your own and alongside your fellow travellers. Here are just a few suggestions for how you can enjoy your time on board:

◆ Meet your ship’s master and socialise with other guests at the Captain’s Cocktail Reception. Enjoy live music and canapés as well as a welcome from the Captain.

◆ There are organised coffee mornings for guests travelling by themselves (advertised in the ship’s Daily Programme), and on board activities like classes and quizzes are great ways to make new friends.

◆ Enriching Insights talks by a famous speaker – renowned authors, writers, film-makers, politicians, scientists, historians and even astronauts are invited on board to inform and entertain guests.

◆ Rediscover the luxury of time and peruse the on board Library with over 6,000 books - relax in the peace and quiet as the ocean passes by.

◆ Indulge yourself with a day pass to the spa and enjoy a body treatment, such as an organic seaweed wrap or a Thai massage.

◆ For ladies travelling alone there are gentlemen dance hosts to accompany you in both dance lessons during the day and also at the evening balls.

◆ Enjoy a Martini Mixology class or Whisky tasting in the Commodore Club or perhaps a Wine tasting experience in the Britannia Restaurant, hosted by the Chief Sommelier on board.

◆ After dinner, watch a show in the Royal Court Theatre – from a theatrical or musical production to comedians.

◆ Get a head start on this evening’s chocolate fondant with a personal trainer in the gym or a Yoga or Pilates class. Enjoy a few laps in the pool or just relax in a whirlpool out on deck.

◆ Try your luck at Roulette, Blackjack or the slot machines in the Empire Casino – you can even take a gaming lesson with an on board croupier.
