(buildings, townscapes, archaeological remains)

• natural environment (rural landscapes, coasts and shorelines, agricultural heritage)

• artefacts (books & documents, objects, pictures)

Intangible • voices, values, traditions,

oral history • perceived through cuisine,

clothing, forms of shelter, traditional skills and technologies, religious ceremonies, performing arts, storytelling

• concept created for SHANGHAI WORLD FAIR 2010 by Finnish architecture company Partanen & Lamusuo partnership

• based on expressions and emotions instead of knowledge• artists guides create interpretations of the space (or event),

based on their own artistic expression• new, inspirational and interactive methods to involve the

audience , e.g. by movements, gestures, intensive presence, ad hoc reactions …

• can be done in interaction with knowledge-based guidance or with the audience

• can be short performances or just ”hanging around”• various fields of art, e.g. performace, dance, music, magic …• performing can take place indoors or outdoors, among the

audience or on stage, at surprising, non-usual places where the spectator does not expect to meet the artist

PARKOUR ACADEMY IN SHANGHAI

• four Parkour Academy members performed for onemonth (August 2010) at Shanghai World Fair as artist guides for the Finnish pavillion KIRNU

• their performance used parkour, acrobatics and

air acrobatics to highlight the architecture of thebuilding
