The topics covered in class include the Arabic language, family, cuisine, the Arab experience in the US, social change, and Arab art and music. The course material explores these topics through lectures and films in addition to discussions based upon the assigned readings and lectures. Grades are based on class participation and weekly short essays. There is no final exam. This course is taught in English and has no prerequisites.
