Cubists rejected these, and other ideas….
• WHY?????
• They wanted the painting to be a painting, not an illusion of reality, or a mimesis of nature, but a reality of its own.
Task….
• Rejection of conventions… describe some of the conventions they rejected.
• Why do you think Picasso and Braque thought these conventions no longer relevant? (Context.. There WAS a time and a place for these things why did Picasso and Braque think it wasn’t in 1907?)
