Fifty years ago our telephone backbone only reached about 65% of the people within the United States.

Most all telephone users had to have operator assistance to dial locally or long distance.

Only thirty years ago we had ARPANET but no Internet and our means of communication was a lot different. We actually wrote letters, but telephones were being used more and were becoming easier to dial out of your area.

Dr. Martin Cooper of Motorola, made the first US analog mobile phone call on a larger prototype model in 1973.

Twenty years ago the Internet existed but not as we know it today. In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee proposes a hypertext system that will run across the Internet on different operating systems. This was the World Wide Web.

Only ten years ago almost 104 million people in the US (and more than 500 million worldwide) owned a mobile phone, some who even removed their physical phone line from their home opting to use their cellular number for all calls.
