Definitions of Pathway types

• What is a “Career Pathway”?   A career pathway is three (3) credits of pre planned and sequential courses required for graduation designed to develop knowledge and skills in a particular career or academic area. The Career Pathway shall be included in the Student Success Plan.

Definitions of Pathway types

• What is a “CTE Pathway”?   A CTE pathway is a career pathway comprised of three (3) or more pre-planned, sequential, and state-approved CTE courses. CTE pathways provide students effective technical and academic preparation for entry into high-skill, high-wage, high-demand occupations while preparing for postsecondary learning.

Definitions of Pathway types

• What is an “Integrated Pathway”?    An integrated pathway is a career pathway that consists of a combination of three (3) or more pre-planned and sequential CTE and NCLB content area courses as a planned sequential program of study designed to develop knowledge and skills in a particular career or academic area.

Definitions of Pathway types

• What is a “Non-CTE Pathway”?   A non-CTE pathway is a career pathway that consists of a set of three (3) or more pre-planned and sequential, NCLB content area courses designed to develop knowledge and skills in a particular career or academic area. Non-CTE pathway courses must be in addition to other academic courses required for graduation.

CTE Enrollment Levels

• CTE Participant: A student who has completed at least one course in any CTE program area.

• CTE Concentrator:A student who has successfully completed at least fifty percent of the credits required to complete a state-approved CTE pathway of sequenced courses, and is enrolled in a course at the next level in the same pathway.

Data Entry Requirements

• When?– March 31: Pathway and Concentrator

Enrollment (for all students in a CTE

pathway)

– June 30 : Pathway Completion

(for all Concentrators)

• Where?– eSch+ : “DOE CTE” Screen
