FOREWORD

Telephone switchboards CT1/6U andCT2/8U enable up to 6 or 8 telephone setsrespectively to be used for intercom func-tions and to access one or two telephonelines. Suitable interface cards can beemployed to connect the switchboard to anaudio or video entry control installation, withsuch options as door lock release, self-con-nection to entry panels to monitor entrancesand other auxiliary commands.• The CT1/6U telephone switchboard canhandle 6 receivers and 1 outside line plus 1optional GSM line.• The CT2/8U telephone switchboard canhandle 8 receivers and 2 outside lines plus1 optional GSM line. The following optional cards can beemployed to implement the switchboard’sadditional features:CTI/200 - interface card for series-200audio and video entry control installationsfor managing two calls, two door lock relea-se commands and up to three auxiliarycommands;CTI/300 - interface card for series-300audio and video entry control installationsfor managing two calls, one door lock relea-se command and up to four auxiliary com-mands;CTI/304 - video interface card for series-300 video entry control systems;CTI/GSM - GSM card with antenna for usein managing a local telephone line (GSM);CTM/… - music card (various melodies);CTM/GV - music card with voice guide with4 voice prompts and announcements;

Call on local lineAll telephones connected to the switch-board are enabled to make calls on thelocal telephone line unless otherwise pro-grammed (see programming manual, page38).Whatever the case, ALL receivers canaccess the outside line for dialling emer-gency numbers (e.g. 112, 113, 118, etc.) andspeed dialling.

Lift the handset and wait for thedial tone.

Dial the desired telephonenumber on the keypad.

Replace the handset when theconversation is over.

NOTE. The switchboard recognizes thenumber entered corresponding to a call onan outside line based on the European num-bering scheme.In countries where this numbering schemeis not in effect, you will need to enter prefix

or in front of the telephone num-ber to get an outside line.

Answering incoming callsLift the handset to answer thecall and start conversation.

Replace the handset when theconversation is over.

WARNING. The telephone may ring with thefollowing patterns:- 1 s and 4 s pause for external call (fixed

network or GSM);- 0.6 s +0.2 s and 4 s pause for call from

other extensions;- 0.6 s +0.6 s and 3.6 s pause for call from

entry panel.

Last local number redialTo redial the last number dialled, press but-ton RP. If the telephone does not feature the RPbutton, proceed as follows:

Lift the handset and wait for thedial tone.

Dial . The last localnumber is redialled.

Replace the handset when theconversation is over.

Call to other receiversLift the handset and wait for thedial tone.

Dial the number of the extension

required ( ÷ ).

Replace the handset when theconversation is over.

Call hold and retrievalIf you want to put the interlocutor on holdduring a conversation, proceed as follows:

Dial . The interlocutorwill hear the hold tone or music(optional card).

To resume conversation:

Conversation can continue.

WARNING. If your are talking with an inter-nal receiver, you can only put the call onhold from the receiver the call was madefrom.

Consultation holdIf, during a local telephone call or conver-sation with the entry panel, you want to putthe interlocutor on hold to consult with anreceiver, proceed as follows:

Dial . The interlocutorwill hear the hold tone or music(optional card).

Dial the number of the receiveryou want to consult with (÷ ).

To resume conversation on the outside line,wait for receiver consulted to hang up, or

Interlocutor switchingIf you already have a call on hold and youare talking with another interlocutor, you canalternate between the first interlocutor andthe second. The interlocutor can be anotherreceiver or an external caller without distinc-tion.Proceed as follows:

Dial during a con-versation in progress whilst youhave another interlocutor onhold to alternate between thetwo. The interlocutor you arenot talking with will hear thehold tone or music (optionalcard).

Dial to end the conver-sation in progress and resumecommunication with the otherinterlocutor.

Replace the handset when theconversation is over.

Press the button on bpt telephones toswitch from on interlocutor to another.

Call transferTo transfer a call in progress to anotherreceiver, proceed as follows:

Dial . The interlocutorwill hear the hold tone or music(optional card).

Dial the number of the receiverthe call is to be transferred to( ÷ ).

If the receiver called is free

Replace the handset to tran-sfer the call without announ-cing it.

If the called receiver does not answer after30 s, the call put on hold is returned to thetelephone it was transferred from.

Answering a call on the outsideline or call from the entry panelduring a conversationIf, during a conversation, you hear the callwaiting tone (on your own telephone) oranother telephone rings to indicate thatthere is a call coming in on the local line orfrom the entry panel, you can answer thecall proceeding as follows:

Dial . The interlocutorwill hear the hold tone or music(optional extra).

Dial once you hearthe dial tone to answer theexternal call. You can now con-verse with the second interlo-cutor.

Dial to put the secondinterlocutor on hold and then

Door lock release command 1The door lock release command is only ena-bled when communication with the entrypanel is active. The system is activated fol-lowing a call from the entry panel or usingthe self-connection feature (see comingsection).

Call rerouting from entry panelto local lineA call from the entry panel can be rerouted toa stored external number (speed dial number47, see programming manual, page 28).This feature is useful if you want to answer acall from the entry panel with a remotetelephone when you are away from thehouse or office. Activating follow-me featureAnyone pre-enabling the follow-me featurefrom his/her own set (see section entitledCall rerouting on page 24), can now activa-te the feature from the host receiver to recei-ver telephone calls destined for his/her ownset there instead, until the destination ischanged again. To activate the feature, proceed as follows:

Lift the handset of the host setand wait for the dial tone.

Dial + the numberof you own receiver (50 ÷ 57) toactivate the follow-me featureon the host set.

Wait for the 3 acknowledge-ment tones and replace thehandset.

Repeat the procedure every time you chan-ge position.

Clock alarm/reminderThis function lets any user programmehis/her receiver personally with the time thealarm is to go off (see programming manualfor instructions on setting the system calen-dar, page 22).Proceed as follows:

DISA FUNCTIONS

The DISA feature lets you call a specificreceiver or send a fax directly from outsidethe system (see programming manual,page 33). This feature can be implemented if theexternal call comes from a telephone withmultifrequency dialling (if the telephone isset to decadic mode, pressing switchesit to multifrequency).

When an external call comes in, the switch-board answers automatically after 2 rings(programmable in the range 2 to 9, see pro-gramming manual, page 35), sending thecaller the dial tone or, if optional cardCTM/GV has been installed, a welcomemessage and voice prompts.When the message ends, the switchboardwaits a few seconds (programmable in therange 5 to 30, see programming manual,page 34) for the caller to dial a number inmultifrequency:- if the switchboard recognizes the numberdialled as that of an receiver, the call isforwarded just to the chosen receiver for 50s and, if there is no answer, to all receiverswith ringing enabled for another 25 s.- if the receiver does not recognize the num-ber dialled as complete or correct, the callis forwarded to all enabled receivers for 25s.

When the switchboard’s automatic answe-ring is enabled with DISA, the following fea-tures are available:

Activation of local telephone call rerouting to stored external number (DISA)With switchboard CT2/8U (or CT1/6U withCTI/GSM card added), a local call can bererouted onto the other telephone line andsubsequently to a stored external number(speed dial number 48, see programmingmanual, page 28).To activate this feature, proceed as follows:

Lift the handset of receiver 50only and wait for the dial tone.

Password-protected unrestricteddialling on outside line (DISA)This feature, only available with switchboardCT2/8U (or CT1/6U with CTI/GSM cardadded), lets you make a call from a remotephone, getting the second outside linethrough the actual switchboard.Proceed as follows:

Lift the handset.

Dial +PASSWORD (seeprogramming manual, page25). Wait for the dial tone.

Dial the desired telephonenumber.

Replace the handset when theconversation is over.

When the called party or caller ends theconversation, if the telephone company cansend this information, the system detects itand instantly frees the busy outside lines. If the end-of- conversation information is notsent, the backup timer intervenes, freeingthe busy outside lines after a default time of2 min (programmable in the range 1 to 9min, see programming manual, page 31).
