top 10 frequently asked questions

How do I know how many meal swipes and Dining Dollars I have left?

Towards the bottom of every receipt, you will find the amount of Dining Dollars you have remaining. As for meal swipes used per week, keep all your Geronimo’s receipts for the week as a way to keep track of your meal swipes. You may also call the Meal Plan office at 818-677-2566.

1

Can meal swipes be converted to Dining Dollars?

No they cannot. Meal swipes are non-transferable.

2

5 I am on the installment payment plan. When are payments due?

Meal Plan payments are due on the 1st of the month. Payments not received by the 10th of each month, will be assessed a $15.00 late fee and your Meal Plan privileges will be suspended..

Yes, Meal Plan changes are accepted up until September 12th of the Fall semester and January 31st of the Spring semester only. Once the semester is underway, you may only change from a lower Meal Plan to a higher one.

Can Meal Plans be changed? 6

Can I use my meal swipes to feed guests?

No you cannot. The meals swipes are exclusively designated for the student who has purchased the meal plan. You may however use your complimentary Guest Pass card to treat friends and family or use your Dining Dollars to pay for guest meals at the retail price. Students may not give their cards to friends to use their swipes in their place. Anyone caught abusing this policy will be fined $25.

3

I am on the installment plan. Does this mean that every time I make a payment, money gets added to my Meal Plan card?

No, making a monthly payment does not add more Dining Dollars to your account. The number of Dining Dollars is set at the beginning of the contract term and is included in the total cost of your Meal Plan which you have elected to pay in installments.

7

I have used up all of my Dining Dollars. Am I out for the semester? You can purchase more Dining Dollars at any time during the semester by logging on to your E-Cash account. See details below.

10

Am I paying for meals during Spring and Winter Breaks even though I am not on campus?

No. The cost of your Meal Plan does not include meal swipes during Spring and Winter breaks. Due to limited hours of operation during Spring and Winter breaks, the meal swipe option is not available during these times. However, your Dining Dollars are active during these periods and will allow you to eat at any of the campus dining locations that are open during break.

8

What should I do if I lose my Meal Plan card?

You should immediately go to the Meal Plan Office at The University Corporation (located on the 3rd floor of the Sierra Center) and fill out a request for a permanent replacement card. A new card with a new account number will be created for a $5 fee that is charged against your Dining Dollars. If you cannot immediately get to the Meal Plan office, you may go to Geronimo’s and get a temporary card with your account number that is good for only 3 days from the date of issue.

4

Can I get a refund of my unused Dining Dollars?

Any unused / remaining Dining Dollars after May 22, 2015 will be forfeited. We do not offer refunds and you may not transfer unused Dining Dollars onto a MataMoney Card.

9

Purchasing + Adding Dining DollarsKeeping track and adding more Dining Dollars to your Meal Plan card has now become easier!

Dining Hall EtiquetteWhen visiting Geronimo’s, here are a few tips to keep in mind to ensure a pleasant dining experience:

Respect the rights of those around you. Loud or abusive language will not be tolerated.

Please wait your turn in line.

Please refrain from horseplay or running while inside the dining hall.

As this is an “All You Care To Eat” dining facility, you may eat as much as you like while in Geronimo’s. All food, beverages, fruit, desserts, etc. are to be consumed only on the premises and not to be taken from the dining hall.

Please don’t be wasteful. Take only what you can eat at the fi rst sitting. You can always go back for more.

Since the dining hall utilizes a self-busing system, it’s important that you clean your table before you leave. Kindly return all dishes, cups and utensils to the dish return room at the end of your meal.

Return all condiments to the caddies once you are fi nished using them.

Should you or others accidentally spill or drop food or beverages, please report it to management immediately so that hazards can be avoided.

You must be properly dressed (shirt and shoes) at all times in the dining hall.

Respect the employees and their hard work.
