CSSM Meeting Summary

CCSDS CSSM Technical Meetings

San Antonio, Texas, USA

28 – 31 October 2013

Concept Book

• Reviewed• Updates/re-writes identified

• Incl re-structuring to align with executive summary recently developed

• Project submission to secretariat by 31 Jan 2014

Schedule of Services (BB Track)

• Reviewed• Needs an ICS – to be included

• Project submission to secretariat as R1 for agency review by 31 Jan 2014

• Prototyping• Test Plan to be updated for available resources test

case (unused time publication)• Testing to be completed by 11/30/13• Prototype test report to be ready by 31 Jan 2014

• Question of ground station and mission IDs for SANA registry raised

• There are no such registries currently in SANA

Configuration Profile/Service Agreement

• Reviewed Concepts/Functional Resources, Extensibility Mechanisms• Working issue of how much extensibility to expose vs

pre-cooked configuration profile to meet major use cases- E.g., service delivered via CCSDS 401 vs 415 vs

optical schemes/spacelink protocols• Action for Spring meetings is to apply service catalog

against catalog 1 and determine number of functional resource combinations to help inform how much extensibility to expose and also validate FR concept

• (See next two slides for FG/FR overview)

Service Request/Service Package

• Reviewed concept/approach• Agreed to work on analysis for Spring 2014 mtgs

• deducing service request/service package specific extensibility needs

• Work boundary issues between schedule of services and service package- But not at the expense of producing SoS R1

Planning Information

• Separated input (mission constraints) from output data format considerations (network induced communications geometry constraints)

• Agreed to take work analysis for Spring 2014 mtgs • Comparing agency inputs re geometric calculations

- E.g, CNES “Station Plan” vs. ESA “Standing Orders” and “Orbit Event Files” vs NASA “Viewperiods”, “PSATs”, etc

• Prioritize output format re geometric calculations “visibilities” in accord with stated IOAG priorities (see April 2012 report to CMC).

DDOR WG Joint Meeting

• DDOR WG presented overview of DDOR service• Presentation in CWE

• DDOR WG agreed to review draft Schedule of Services (aka Simple Schedule)

• Some preliminary assessment done re configuration profile and DDOR services• config profile -- there are standard and also variable

scan patterns (e.g, quasar-spacecraft-quasar)• dwell times vary (not standardized)• no standard correlator vs producer vs consumer

patterns

Blue-1 Test Report

• Copy of consolidated, updated B1 test report from JAXA received and gratefully acknowledged

• NASA commits to updating the consolidated document for release

Not Addressed at Mtg (Relative to Agenda)

• Event Sequence book draft outline• Trajectory Prediction book draft outline

Longer term project definitions

• Current projects updated re revised milestone dates• Also agency commitments updated/noted where

possible• Two new projects defined in CWE

• Trajectory prediction• Management services (service management

automation)

Plan for next 6 months

• Green Book to Secretariat – Jan 2014• SoS R1 to Secretariat – Jan 2014• SoS Prototyping Completed -- Dec 2013• SoS Prototype Test Report -- Dec 2013• Planning Information preliminary draft – Feb 2014 • IOAG SC 1 Analysis re config profile combos – Mar

2014• Service Request/Package extensibility structuring

analysis – Mar 2014• Event Sequence engineering concepts – Mar 2014• Telecon Schedule Identified:

• T1: 19 November 2013• T2: 10 December 2013• T3: 14 January 2013• T4: 28 January 2014• T5: 18 February 2014• T6: 04 March
