Increase Productivity with theDual-Channel OptionThe CSI 2130 is available witheither one or two channels forvibration analysis. The dual-channel option not only enablesadvanced analysis options, butalso brings significant efficiencyimprovements. Emerson'spatented dual-channel datacollection technique slashesmeasurement time by anadditional 20% to 45%. Thisincrease in productivity translatesinto a complete return oninvestment within the first year.
Easy OperationThe CSI 2130 requires onlyminimal training for effectiveoperation. In addition tocollecting data, the CSI 2130converts data into actionableinformation about machineryhealth. For example, it canautomatically distinguishbetween an imbalance and abearing fault. The user is instantlynotified about the nature ofdeveloping faults at the time ofmeasurement, so that you canfocus your attention on criticalmachine issues immediately.
Embedded IntelligenceThe ability to performadditional diagnostic tests atthe machine site transformssimple data collection into aneffective machinery healthprogram. In today’s demandingwork environment, it is difficult tofind the time to acquire advancedanalysis skills. Embeddeddiagnostics enable even a noviceuser to conduct sophisticatedtests with the touch of a button. The bottom line impact is thatusers can quickly harness thefull power of the CSI 2130 inthe field, immediately impactingyour botton line.
Detect the Earliest Sign ofBearing and Gear WearDetecting imbalance ormisalignment is simple with mostdata collectors but the CSI 2130can also detect developingfaults on bearings and gears.
Emerson's patented PeakVue®
processing applies digitaltechnology to detect stresswaves - the earliest sign ofbearing and gear wear.Demodulation and other analogtechnologies typically can notdetect such faults until muchlater – after the machine isalready damaged.
PeakVue processing not onlyoffers the earliest warning ofdeveloping faults, it alsoprovides an indication ofseverity. Measurements can betranslated into reliable trends todetermine the optimal timingfor maintenance.
With PeakVue, machineryfaults are clearly visible in thewaveform, opening up newoptions for fault detection anddiagnosis.

Page 3
The full VGA screen displays standard and PeakVue data at the same time. The PeakVue plot (bottom right) provides clear indication of a rolling elementbearing fault that is not visible in the standard reading (bottom left).
Predict Catastrophic FailureMany online monitoringsystems installed in plantstoday serve as nothing morethan a shutdown switch in thecase of a catastrophic condition.By collecting the signals fromthese systems with the CSI 2130,you can add predictive capabilitiesby identifying faults before acatastrophe occurs. Orbit plotscan be generated to identifyproblems such as misalignmentand shaft rubs. Trending dataalso helps to uncover developingcracks and other types ofstructural faults.
Monitoring Trouble SpotsThe CSI 2130 can also serveas a temporary online monitor. With line power, it is possible tomonitor machine health for longerspans up to a month. It canautomatically acquire and storedata such as the overall vibration, fault frequencies associatedwith specific fault types, or eventhe complete spectrum over anextended period of time. You cancapture the break-in period fornew equipment or to ensure thata machine with a known faultcan make it to the next outage.
Filtered orbits are displayed and transferred back to AMS MachineryManager. Orbits provide information about the health of sleeve bearingmachines.

Page 4
Full Spectrum of MeasurementAnother unique feature of the CSI2130 is its exceptional frequencyrange. Using Emerson's patentedSlow Speed Technology (SST),the CSI 2130 can accuratelymeasure signals on critical lowspeed equipment that would beout of range for other vibrationanalyzers. The CSI 2130 alsoboasts the highest frequencyrange in the market. It canmeasure signals up to 80,000 Hz,which is important for accuratediagnosis of centrifugalcompressors and otherhigh speed machinery.
Variable Speed AnalysisVariable speed analysis isessential to any effectivemachinery health programbecause most critical pieces ofequipment must be operated atvarying speeds to accommodatethe changing productiondemands. While most vibrationsystems do not take variablespeed into account duringdata collection, the CSI 2130automatically adapts all of itsdiagnostic tools to variableturning speeds during routinedata collection. This providesan accurate evaluation ofdeveloping problems inthe field.
Capture Machine ShutdownsFor analysis of transient events, the CSI 2130 collects a seriesof machine vibration snapshotsduring startup, coastdown orprocess changes. These spectracan then be viewed individually orin a Cascade plot.
Correlate Vibration andProcess Variables to IdentifyMachine ProblemsUse the dual-channel featureof the CSI 2130 to correlatemachinery vibration with processvariables. This is accomplishedby inputting the processinformation as a volt signal intoone channel, while monitoringvibration on the other.
Unsurpassed VersatilityThe CSI 2130 incorporates amodular design so that it can beconfigured to specifically addressyour current needs. As yourneeds evolve, the CSI 2130can be easily and affordablyexpanded to enhance yourcapabilities while protectingyour initial investment. Thisversatile unit can be purchasedas a single- or dual-channelanalyzer – with or without routemeasurement capability, as adedicated field balancer, or asa laser alignment calculator.Put together any combinationof capabilities to match yourrequirements. Additional modulesare also available for transientand structural analysis.
Advanced Cross-ChannelAnalysisStandard data collection servesas an excellent base for identifyingdeveloping machinery faults, but cross-channel analysis isoften required to identify theroot cause of the fault. Expandthe vibration analysis applicationof the CSI 2130 with the cross-channel module to determine theactual movement of the shaftduring operation and to identifystructural faults such as cracksand resonances. While thedual-channel CSI 2130 candisplay orbits for turbomachineryanalysis, the optional AdvancedCross-Channel applicationexpands these capabilities toinclude impact testing and othertypes of cross-channel analysis.
Page 5
Machinery Health™ Management
As a further enhancement, the ODS/Modal application(Operational Deflection Shapes)makes structural analysis simpleby automatically configuring therequired series of cross-channeltests.
Cross-channel data can also beanalyzed in the VibPro moduleof AMS Machinery Manager,or exported to specializedODS/Modal analysis software.
The Cascade application captures machine vibration during startup, coast-down,or over an extended period of time. Top half of screen shows spectraindividually; bottom half of screen shows cascade plot.

The Advanced Transient Analysis application records the vibration signature frommachine startup, coastdown or during process disruptions for advanced analysis.
The Advanced Balancingapplication offers two solutionsto the typical challenges of fieldbalancing:
Vector Averaging - Thistechnique systematically removesbackground vibration that wouldotherwise contaminate thecalculated solution.
Balancing Watchdog - Thispatented technology automaticallychecks the vibration data on themachine while you perform thebalance job. The Watchdogis able to identify and alert youof severe structural faults (suchas looseness or resonance) thatwould otherwise make the jobdifficult or impossible to complete. The user can take correctiveaction to remove the structuralfault, balance the rotor, and leavethe machine in reliable operatingcondition.
Laser AlignmentThe Advanced Laser Alignmentapplication offers a graphically-driven user interface and wirelessoperation to quickly and easilycomplete alignment jobs.Emerson's advanced lasersystem uses built-in dualinclinometers to automaticallydetermine the shaft position, soyou simply rotate the shaft andthe solution is plotted on thescreen. The Live Move optionupdates the change in alignmentcondition during the machinemove. Full job documentation
Expand the Power of Your CSI2130 with Transient AnalysisThe Advanced Transient Analysisapplication expands the powerof a single- or dual-channelCSI 2130 to record the rawvibration signal over a prolongedperiod of time for post-processingand analysis. This is essentialfor diagnostics of turbomachinery, startup and coastdown ormachines with short, repetitiveduty cycles. This data can beexamined directly on the CSI2130 or in AMS MachineryManager.
Field BalancingThe Advanced Balancingapplication allows you to usethe CSI 2130 as a powerfulfield balancer. This applicationcombines advanced technologywith simple, straightforwardoperation for a fast, effectivesolution to your balancingproblems. The graphical userinterface automatically guidesyou through the balancechecklist so that only minimaltraining is required for effectiveoperation. The application offersa basic mode for simple one-or two-plane balancing and anadvanced mode for more complexjobs. Full job documentation canbe printed or stored in AMSMachinery Manager.
Once the data is retrieved by theCSI 2130, it can be placed in ajob format and stored in AMSMachinery Manager for detailedanalysis. The addition of the 9200Link application extends the reachof your vibration analysis program.
Motor Current AnalysisTogether with the MotorView®
module in AMS MachineryManager, the CSI 2130 performsnon-intrusive analysis of the rotorand stator condition in inductionmotors. This can be accomplishedwith a standard current clampor Emerson’s patented fluxmonitoring.
Industrial RatingsDesigned for use in industrialenvironments, the CSI 2130 hasreceived an IP 65 rating certifyingthat it is dust- and splashwater—tight. It also complies with
international safety standards forhazardous areas in the UnitedStates, Canada and Europe.
Accessory OptionsSpeed DetectionAccurate detection of the shaftturning speed is critical toeffective machinery healthanalysis. The CSI 430 LaserSpeed Sensor allows you todetermine shaft speed withoutrequiring reflective tape orspecific markings on the machine.
Triaxial AccelerometerThe Model A0643TX is arevolutionary new triaxial sensor. This sensor can be magnetmounted to the machine andstill provide high-quality readingsin all three directions.
Proximity Probe ConnectionsTo measure orbits on a protectionsystem, use BNC-type cables andthe dual-volt adapter. The phasereference can be read using thegeneric tach cable.
