Version Positioning of CS10.0

CS10.0 is a project delivery version for the single platform of ATCA-based MSOFTX3000s, used to maintain Huawei

softswitch performance and evolution competitiveness in the world first rank in the industry (VoLTE commercial use, large

capacity) and meet the requirements of 2013 market expanding and delivery. However, CS10.0 is not the main adaption version

in 2013.

The ATCA-based MSOFTX3000 adapts TMSC features, use the One Network solution to drive the network reconstruction

of China Mobile, and build a technical foundation for the TMSC reconstruction and substitution of China Mobile.

Feature Name Key Attribute Value (CAPEX / OPEX / Revenue)

Large capacity of softswitch

Supporting commercial use for 12 million subscribers and demonstration for 20 million subscribers

• Enhance the competitiveness of ATCA-based MSOFTX3000s.• Reduce carriers' OPEX by centralized operation and maintenance (O&M) of the large capacity softswitch.• Optimize the performance and O&M capability.• Have inventory foundations for substituting CPCI-based MSOFTX3000s.

VoLTE

• VoLTE Alerting SRVCC and mAGCF

• CSFB: MTRF, Fast Return, and service redundancy

• Enhance the VoLTE matching capability.• Improve the CSFB solution to meet market requirements.

A New Feature: Batch & Scheduled Calls SimulatorFeature definitionThe Batch & Scheduled Calls Simulator feature enables the MSOFTX3000 to simulate location updates and calls at a predefined frequency for a test number. With this feature enabled, the MSOFTX3000 together with the Naster server can detect whether an international route is bypassed by the VoIP. This helps to decrease losses brought by fraudulent international calls. The Nastar server is used to analyze the subscriber behaviors after it obtains the call information.

Benefits:Carriers can minimize losses resulting from fraudulent international calls.

When integrated to an MSC server, the automatic test

calls simulator enables the MSOFTX3000 to simulate

calls. Therefore, it helps the anti-fraud server detect

fraudulent calls by using information such as

subscribers' numbers and calling frequencies.

An MSC server can implement this feature in two

modes:

• CFU (Call Forwarding Unconditional) mode

• Roaming mode

The CFU mode is shown in the figure in this page. In a

Calling party->A->C scenario, user A is a foreign user

who does not need to register with national networks,

and user C is a national user who needs to register

with a G/VMSC server in a simulation way.

The roaming mode is similar to the CFU mode. The

only difference is that subscriber A does not need to

subscribe the CFU but needs to register with a

G/VMSC (These two carriers must have signed an

international roaming agreement.).

Refer to WMFD-123100_Batch & Scheduled Calls

Simulator in the GPI/CPI for detailed information of

this feature.

An end user does not need to perform the real test and need to subscribe the CFU.

Final answering from the end user is not required.

Only the signaling information generated in the call flow is required.

Obtain the user information from the CHR (Call History

Record) to analyze fraudulent behaviors.

Dial suspected SIMBOX numbers to check whether they are numbers of real

SIMBOX users.

CHR

The Batch & Scheduled Calls Simulator: registers user C information in a

simulation mode and initiate a test call:

Caller->A->C.

A New Feature: Access Code Based Modem Service

Feature definitionThe Access Code Based Modem service enables the MSOFTX3000 that functions as a media gateway control function (MGCF) to establish a data channel for a call placed to a modem server. The modem server is deployed outside the IMS and its number has been configured as an access code on the MGCF. When a call is placed from the modem server, for example, a subscriber swipes a card on the POS terminal, the call is routed to the MGCF. The MGCF identifies the access code and establishes a data channel for the call.

Benefits:For carriers: carriers can increase their call completion rate for data services by using the Modem server. For subscribers: subscribers can have a better service experiences because the time for waiting for the connection of the data service decreases.

The IMS network sends an INVITE message to the MGCF. Based on the called number in the message, the MGCF queries the

Call Prefix table (configured using ADD CNACLD) and determines that Service category is INTERNET access code. In

addition, the MGCF determines that Data service indicator in the corresponding Service Check table (configured using ADD

SRVCHK) is High speed modem or Low speed modem. Then, the MGCF directly initiates a data service to the CS domain.

This feature is controlled by new license control item "Access Code Based Modem Service Traffic".

For detailed service description, refer to WMFD-252900_Access Code Based Modem Service in the GPI/CPI.

An Enhanced Feature: Low Cost RoutingFeature definitionLow Cost Routing is an enhanced routing feature compared with that of CS8.1.This feature enables the MSOFTX3000 to select an appropriate subroute after taking the routing costs, call completion rates, and call answer rates predefined for all available subroutes into account. If call completion rates and call answer rates of a subroute fail to meet the requirements, the MSOFTX3000 will not select this subroute again within one hour but select the second lowest cost subroute.Application scenario: the Low Cost Routing feature applies to networks on which the MSOFTX3000 functions as a gateway or tandem MSC server.

Benefits:For carriers:Carriers can improve bearer resource utilization and reduce operating expenses (OPEX).

Implementation principle

1. The MSOFTX3000 selects the subroute with the lowest routing cost when Sub-route selection mode is set to Select by cost

(defined in ADD RT).

2. If Sub-route selection based on NER and ASR is set to Yes, run SET SRTATTR to specify Call attempts, Minimum

completion rate, and Minimum answer rate, so the MSOFTX3000 can dynamically select an appropriate subroute based on the

cost and communication quality. Then, the MSOFTX3000 preferentially selects a subroute with the lowest cost. If call completion

rates and call answer rates of this subroute fail to meet the requirements, the MSOFTX3000 selects the subroute with the second

lowest cost. For subroutes with the same cost, the MSOFTX3000 selects a subroute based on the configured percentage of each

subroute.
