GRAN SASSO INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP CRYODET-2 Cryogenic liquid detectors for future particle physics INFN Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso, Italy June 14th-15th, 2007 BULLETIN N. 2 This is the Second (and last) Bullettin of the international workshop “CRYODET-2: Cryogenic liquid detectors for future particle physics” to be held at Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (LNGS), Assergi (L’Aquila), Italy, from June 14th to June 15h, 2007. The workshop is sponsored by Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN). For information about LNGS see www.lngs.infn.it . Program A large particle detector based on liquid Argon technology (ModuLAr) to afford exciting searches as proton decay and neutrino physics with artificial and natural sources has been recently proposed (arXiv:0704.1422v1 [hep-ph], 11 Apr 2007). Such a detector can drive the realization of a new shallow depth laboratory at GranSasso and exploit again a dedicated CERN to Gran Sasso upgraded neutrino beam. The aim of the workshop is to bring together the international community having common interest in this field for a detailed presentation of the project and for an open discussion of the perspectives opened by this proposal within the present international experiental scenario. The layout of the Scientific Program is reported below. A complete information on the workshop is available on the web page http://cryodet.lngs.infn.it ,

Discussion on perspectives

R. Petronzio: INFN vision

round table / open discussion Issue N.1: The race to unveil the unknowns of the neutrino mixing matrix:

the role of ModuLAr within the present experimental international scenario. Issue N.2: Realistic perspectives for proton intensities:

the CERN CNGS-2 project vs J-PARC and NuMI

Issue N.3: Relevant Technical Issues (and/or R&D steps) towards the realization of a massive LArTPC detector at shallow depth:

the LNGS-2 layout and its technical implications

Issue N.4: Additional Physics Issues (e.g.:Supernovae and Relic Neutrinos; Accelerator “non-oscillation” physics: neutrino cross sections, neutrino magnetic moment searches):

perspectives with ModuLAr and the other LAr/nonLAr detectors presently under discussion.
