    PREFACE

    The contents of this book are products of my humble experiences,observations and imaginations coupled with my belief that a man would donothing, if he waited until he would do it so well that no one would find fault

    with what he has done. Assuming men where God, many people couldhave gone from this world, poverty and diseases could have been everywere, bell of war could have rang all around, morality could have declined.Religion could have been old fashion. It is against the background of thisbelief that the title CRY OF A POET has been chosen for this book withthe hope that with this humble beginning a greater move would be made

    some day, somehow, if my modest sketches today may have to be given aretouch tomorrow.

    Never the less since my being is almost faced with hardship, I have nodoubt that somehow, some of the lines in this book will serve as a sort of

    tranquilizer to those sick at heart, inspire the really struggling ones, wakeupsome of our leaders from their slumber and offer hope and fun to those who

    are weary. It is therefore my wish that the messages this book tries toconvey get across to both the old, and the young ones on whom the future

    depends.In concluding this very brief introduction, I wish to stress that much as I

    accept the axiom that not life that matters, but the courage one infuse intoit.

    By the combined forces of the people (the society) and the government, is

    to continue to breed a society where oppression and poverty will continue toreign supreme.

    ACKNOWLEGEMENTS

    I am grateful to my parents Mr. / Mrs. Okonkwo, for their advice and

    encouragement at the time of writing this book. Their frankness has been most

    helpful.

    My thanks also go to most sincerely, all those read through the scripts. Their wordsof encouragement have been very useful.

    I must also thank all those who have unfailingly laboured to see it printed. Without

    them, this book would not have seen the light of day. Most especially I-proclaim

    press (Dorrance Publishing Co.) for publishing my poem book.

    CRY OF A POET

    My sorrow cannot be healed;

    I am sick at heartI listen! Throughout Africa

    I hear my African people crying out,

    The summer is gone, the harvest is over,

    But we Africans have not been saved.

    My heart has been crushedBecause my African people are crushed;

    I mourn; I am completely dismayed.Is there know medicine in the whole of Africa?

    Are there know doctors there in Africa?

    Why, then, have my African people not been healed?

    They are all unfaithful,

    A mob of traitors

    They are always ready to tell lies;

    Dishonesty instead of truth rules Africa.

    I wish my head were a well of water,

    And my eyes a fountain of tears,

    So that I could cry day and nightFor my African people who have been killed,

    I wish I had a place to stay in the desert

    Where I could get away from my African people.

    Their tongues are like deadly arrows,

    They always tell lies

    Everyone speaks friendly words to his neighbour,But is really setting a trap for him.

    I will mourn for the mountains

    And weep for the pastures,

    Because they have dried up,

    And no one travels through them.

    The sound of livestock is no longer heard;Birds and wild animals have fled and gone.

    Call for the women who sing funeral songs.

    Tell them to hurry and sing a funeral song for Africa,Until their eyes fill with tears,

    And their eyelids are wet from crying.

    Listen to the sound of crying in Africa,

    We are ruined!We are completely disgraced!

    We must leave Africa;

    Our homes have been torn down.

    THIS PRISON CALLED A VILLAGE.

    Though the world outside is active,

    Moving and progressing,

    People are questioning and debating,Here in this place,

    This prison called a village,

    Where silence is the most golden

    And the most abundant of virtues

    We move like sheep from day to day,

    From year to year,

    Doing noting but worshipping tradition

    And spiting hate against our so-called enemiesIn this prison called village you may be a heretic,

    There have been many before you,But only on trivial matters

    Such as the method of planting or reaping,Or even on the market prices and womens dresses,

    But never on the rocks of traditional marriage;

    At any rate,

    I have stepped into the ringThe die is cast.

    MOTHER ROYAL.

    You are the mother royal of all beauties

    The pillar that support the under world

    The greatest mama that live under worldYou spark brighter than diamonds.

    You that shone like the morning star

    The day I look straight into your eyes

    My heart melts and long for your love.

    Mother royal I remember,

    With strong memory;

    Then when I was very poorWhen I cant feed three square meal a day,

    Or even change my old clothesUntil the day you shone into my life.

    You mother royal took away my poverty

    And took away my loneliness

    You taught me how to love again

    You taught me that true love still exists.

    Mother royal the strange mama,

    That controls all spiritual beings,

    And animals underworldI send my ode to you.

    CHILDREN OF NSUKKA.

    I remember with memories of nsukka,

    That town of the seven hills

    Its harsh harmattan windsIt has the simplest leaf in nature

    It has tiny openings for the flow of gasses,

    Its green colouring catches sunlight

    Its veins carry watery food from the soil

    The redness of the earth,The soft green of its hills

    The insularity and campus tattle

    It is far better planned than a nation

    It is more like a highly ordered city.

    DEAR MOTHER.

    Dear mother, you are my lovely mother

    No kind of love succeeds the love of my mother

    Whatever the kind of love,Be it business love, political love,

    Social love or spiritual love,

    My mothers love stimulates,

    It venerates

    It titillatesIt elevates

    Mother, you are my valuable love

    Every body wants to have a good mother

    But not every body has Asses to a good mother.

    Dear mother, my lovely mother!Whatever the kind of love,

    Mother your love is satisfying,Its gratifying

    Its glorifying

    Its purifying

    This, we must however noteDear mother comes before sweet

    Dear mother comes before reaping

    Dear mother comes before inspiration

    The sting of the bee comesBefore the sweet honey;

    Dear mother comes before success!

    I CAN MAKE IT.

    If Chelsea F.C defender Mikel Obi, could make it from rags to riches

    Why cant I make it?

    If Elder Ajayi Crowther could make it from slavery to leader of men

    Why cant I make it?

    If the lizards can fall from great heights and still survived-

    What stops me from making it?

    If Barrack Obama could make it from so many challenges pains upsets and agony

    To become the First Black president of America

    Then, why cant I make it?

    If indeed, nature provides for the birds in the airAnd make fishes below the water have its needs-

    What stops me from having mine?

    Although, the journey to the top may be hard

    But people still make it with courage and perseverance-

    So why cant I have my way?

    I cant go back

    I must keep moving-

    Until I make itI can make it even without a dime.

    CREATION BY ACCIDENT.

    Some people want to live as if there is no

    God to whom they must answer,

    To avoid the need for God they teachThat all we see came into being by accident.

    Matter has always existed, they say;

    But at some time long ago matter exploded

    Some flying pieces from this Big Bang,Came together in such a way that they happened

    To form living things-all by accident too-

    And we humans are the result.

    We have no spirit and no real purposeFrom a long line of accidents,

    We are accident on its way to final accident!

    Does such a picture make sense?How could so many accidents result in such order?

    What would happen if you caused a great explosion?

    To scatter a pile of rocks and wood,

    Even if you repeated this many times over,Would millions of pieces ever have the chance of

    Coming together in such a way as to form a normal house?

    Would the heavier rocks happen to come down

    First to make a perfect foundation?Would smaller pieces then fall by chance to

    Make straight walls on all in place?

    Would other pieces finally fall in such order

    As to make a roof that keeps rain out?My fellow brothers and sisters know it today that,

    Creation is not by accident.

    DONT GIVE UP.

    When the road to the top,

    Turns arduous and dangerous,

    And every impression of being or doing something seems badDont give up.

    When no body cares,

    And you are condemned to your fate

    Dont give up.

    You never can tell-

    You may be very close to the happy moment

    Dont give up.

    For the darkest hourIs nearest the dawn

    Stop, if need be,To muster more strength, but-

    Dont give up.

    A total stop may be disastrous:The end result is usually regret

    The way to that enviable shore of success

    Is only by keep moving on.

    Really, it appears you can go further no more,And the world seems to be ending

    Dont give up.

    For no condition on earth is forever;And the true yardstick for success is courage

    People may laugh and jeer at you-

    To throw your mind in utter disarry

    Dont give up.

    For, after a heavy rainfall

    Then, comes glorious sunshine.

    DONT ASK.

    Dont ask what you can get from man,

    But what you can give to humanity.

    For a step in the right directionCan make the whole difference to the world.

    Dont ask what can this fellow be in life,

    But what can you offer him to survive

    For the last can become the first, Cause no condition is really permanent.

    Dont ask for asking sake,

    But ask to gain more knowledgeFor only the wise ask

    To be wiser still and be an asset to humanity.

    THE GREAT FALL OF A LIZARD.

    Furu u u u - ukpe!

    A great fall is made

    A spell of silence of confusion follows,And no one gives a hand

    But, a gentle look round;

    Yet, no one cares, no one is interested

    Then, a nod of the head

    Yes in self- praise;For, if no one praises me,

    I should praise myself,

    Cause only few fall from such height

    Without kissing deathFuru u u u ukpe!

    After a great fall,A big move can still be made.

    FALSE PROPHETS.

    But any person can claim to be a prophet,

    Speaking for God.

    He may do this to get money power or fameSome might even do it, sincerely,

    For their own good reasons

    They are but, false prophets.

    This was a problem in the past,And it is still a problem today

    Many who now claim to speak for God,

    Argue against each other

    Their messages do not agreeThey are but, false prophets.

    And there were also false prophets,

    Among the people,Just as there will be false teachers among you.

    CREATION TELLS THE GLORY OF GOD.

    The heavens declare the glory of God;

    The skies proclaim the work of his hands,

    Yet the suns strength is strictly controlled.If the sun changed its course even a little,

    All life on our planet would soon end.

    For everything is in perfect place for life,

    To exist on this earth.

    Such careful design in every detail,Must have a builder.

    But we have not yet mentioned the man and woman,

    With their children,Who live in this amazing home.

    The brain of even the smallest child has many,More active parts than all the stars,

    The eye sees at night!Our minds work with great thoughts.

    Our eyes see beauty in living colours.

    The human spirit has power to choose and to love,

    And our hearts reach high in worship.Creation tells the glory of God.

    THE NAME YAHWEH.

    The name Yahweh shows that God is the,

    I am, that he continues to be.

    The name Yahweh sounds like,

    The verb to be in the Hebrew language

    As the self existing one,

    God does not depend on anything else for his being

    Instead, all others Whether spirits or humans or material things

    Depend on him for their being or existence.

    I Am Who I AmThis is what you are to say to the people;

    I am has sent me to you.This is my name forever,

    The name by which I am to be remembered,From generation to generation

    GOD IS SPIRIT.

    God, as spirit, is so great that,

    He is always present at all places.

    He can hold all in his control.There is no way to ever hide from him.

    Where can I go from your spirit?

    Where can I flee from your presence?

    If I go up to the heavens,

    You are there;If I make my bed in the depths,

    You are there,

    If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

    If I settle on the far side of the sea,Even there your hand will hold me fast.

    Nothing in all creation is hidden from Gods sight.Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes,

    Of him to whom we must give account.

    TAKE HEART BROTHERS.

    Under the blazing sun of the tropics,

    Under the harsh climate of the temperate,

    You craw along on your palms and knees:Exposed to the hazards of life.

    Yet all qualities of man have you.

    No event without a cause they say

    But, what is your crime?Who are we to ask the great master?

    Coming into the world could be your only crime

    No one can tell.

    The beauties of the world all around you

    You neither can take part nor behold.No one cares;

    No one sees well in you:But the great master made you all.

    There is no road without an end.

    Whether thou live in the dark world,What cannot be cured must be endured.

    Weep not brother

    The sky is too far away,

    The earth is just too near.Trails and troubles need not give despair,

    Hope that never disappoints they can build.

    Keep struggling on.

    WHAT IS LOVE.

    I love you; the familiar saying goes.

    Yet very few know what it means to love,

    Cause love is not only to be pronouncedCalf- love that leads nowhere,

    This could just be.

    It takes an honest feeling to love:

    Love is not only to be seenIt takes the inner sight

    Not just window- dressing-

    To really get the feeling

    In the amorous garden

    Eat, wine, dance and sleep,And love you may know not still.

    For mere lust that could lead to life-long regret,This could be also.

    It takes a real mind-searching to love:

    Displaying of material wealth or natural beauty,Is no real sign of love.

    Means of defrauding

    This may be.

    But, what is love?

    Many tags it has been given by many.

    Behold, true love is invincible;

    It transcends all barriers.It doubts not,

    It bears all things,

    And with it, the world a happy place can be.

    LETS CHANGE THE WORLD.

    Lets change the world

    Open the windows of our minds

    To the realities of our world;Start seeing far beyond individual self;

    And redirect our sense of direction.

    Replace hate with love:

    Plant peace where there is unrest;Give comfort where there is pain.

    Oh, lets together change it

    Our world needs change Insert hope where there is despair;

    Offer joy where there is sadness;Infuse strength where there is weakness.

    Confidence lets generate where there is despair;

    Knowledge that works and efficiency that creates

    Lets pursue instead of just mere decorated papers.

    Good names lets strive more to archive

    Rather that silver and gold,

    For where these wear off, good names linger on

    The world a happy place lets make for all human.

    A CURSE ON THE DAY I WAS BORN.

    Put a curse on the day I was born;

    Put a curse on the night when I was conceived!

    Turn that day into darkness,Never again remember that day;

    Never again let light shine on it.

    Make it a day of gloom and thick darkness;

    Cover it with clouds, and blot out the sun.

    Blot that night out of year,And never let it be counted again;

    Make it a barren, joyless night.

    Tell the sorcerers to curse that day,

    Those who know how to control leviathanKeep the morning star from shining;

    Give that night no hope of dawn.Curse that night for letting me be born,

    For exposing me to trouble and grief

    I wish I had died in my mothers womb

    Or died the moment I was born.

    Why did my mother hold me on her knees?Why did she feed me at her breast?

    If I had died then, I would be sleeping like princes

    Who filled their houses with gold and silver,

    Or sleeping like a stillborn child.In the grave wicked men stop their evil,

    And tired workmen find rest at last.

    Instead of eating, I mourn, and

    I can never stop groaning.Everything I fear and dread comes true.

    I have no place, no rest, and my troubles never end.

    A ROYAL SONG FOR GREAT KING.

    Beautiful words fill my mind,

    As I compose this royal song for great king.

    Like a pen of a good writerMy tongue is ready with a poem.

    You are the most handsome of men;

    You are an eloquent speaker.

    God has always blessed you.Buckle on your sword, mighty king;

    You are glorious and majestic.

    Ride on in majesty to victoryFor the defense of truth and justice!

    Your strength will win you great victories!Your arrows are sharp,

    They pierce the hearts of your enemies;Nations fall down at your feet.

    The kingdom that God has given you

    Will last forever and ever.You rule over your people with justice;

    You love what is right and hate what is evil

    That is why God, your God, has chosen you

    And has poured out more happiness on you than any other king.The perfume of myrrh and aloes is on your clothes;

    Musicians entertain you in palaces decorated with ivory.

    You, my king, will have many sons to succeeds your ancestors as kingsAnd you will make them rulers over the whole earth.

    My songs will keep your fame alive forever,

    And everyone will praise you for all time to come.

    Do you think I am a sea-monster?

    I lie down and try to rest;I look for relief from my pain.

    But you-you terrifies me with dreams;

    You send me visions and nightmares

    Until I would rather be strangledThan live in this miserable body

    I give up; I am tired of livingLeave me alone. My life makes no sense.

    Why are mine so important to you?

    Why pay attention to what I do?

    You inspect me every morning

    And test me every minute.Wont you look away long enough

    For me to swallow my spittle?

    Are you harmed by my sin, you jailer?

    YOU THINK I AM TALKING NOTHING BUT WIND.

    But you, my friends, you deceive me like streams

    That goes dry when no rain comes.

    The streams are choked with snow and ice,But in the heat they disappear,

    And the streambeds lie bare and dry.

    Caravans get lost looking for water,

    But their hope dies beside dry streams.

    You are like those streams to me,You see my fate and draw back in fear.

    Have I asked you to give me a gift?

    Or to bribe someone on my behalf or to save

    Me from some enemy or tyrant?.

    All right, teach me; tell me my faults.I will be quiet and listen to you.

    Honest words are convincing,But you are talking nonsense

    You think I am talking nothing but wind;

    Then why do you answer my words of despair?

    You would even throw dice for orphan slavesAnd make yourselves rich off your closest friends!

    Look me in the face. I wont lie.

    You have gone far enough stop being unjust.

    MY LIFE IS LIKE FORCED ARMY SERVICE.

    My life is like a forced army service,

    Like a life of hard manual labour;

    Like a slave longing for cool shade;Like a worker waiting for his pay

    Month after month I have nothing to live for,

    Night after night brings me grief.

    When I lie down to sleep, the hours drag;

    I toss all-night and long for dawn.My body is full of worms;

    My days pass by without hope,Pass faster than a weavers shuttle.

    Remember, my life is only a breath;

    My happiness has already ended.You see me now, but never again.

    If you look for me, Ill be gone.

    Like cloud that fades and is gone,

    A man dies and never returns;He is forgotten by all who know him.

    DOES HUMAN SYMPATHY EXIST?

    Does human sympathy exist?

    In this place call earth.

    A place where there is no common human

    Sympathy for the poor and sick at heart,

    The poor are not allowed even to contribute,

    To the development in their economy

    Even the poor are made to pay dearly,For the sins or offences they do not commit.

    A place were the poor are used by the wealthy,

    People to disturb the massive communal peaceA place were the poor are getting poorer

    And the rich are getting richerYet some say human sympathy exist.

    Dont blame them; it is because they get favour from it,But it does not mean that human sympathy exist

    When would they be common human sympathy,

    For the poor and sick at heart in this world.That is why I am calling on our leaders to wake up,

    From their wickedness and slumber, and

    Offer hope and fun to those who are weary.

    When will the beautiful ones be born?

    When will the good and caring ones arrive?

    This place of oppression that has no human dignity

    It is therefore my wish that my massages be carried

    To the young ones, on

    Whom the future depends on to be a better place for all human.

    WARNING TO RICH OPPRESORS.

    Now listen, you rich people,

    Weep and wail because of the misery

    That is coming upon youYour wealth has rotted, and

    Moths have eaten your clothes

    Your gold and silver are corroded,

    Their corrosion will testify against you

    And eat your flesh like fireYou have hoarded wealth in the last days.

    Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen, who

    Mowed your fields are crying out against you

    The cries of the harvesters have reachedThe ears of the lord almighty

    You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgenceYou have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter

    You have condemned and murdered innocent men,Who were not opposing you.

    DEMOCRACY.

    Oh! Democracy, we suffered pains, sorrow,

    Hardship, bitterness and death

    In the hands of the militaryWe prayed and prayed for God to give us,

    Democracy, so that we can exercise our God given,

    Human rights and justice, but democracy you did not come.

    Democracy we longed for you so you can turnThe world round and round,

    Halt all human suffering, and vanquish death

    Yet you did not come.

    But now democracy you have come our way

    And people were very happy for you democracyWith the hope that you will move the mountains,

    Feed the hungry,Clothe the naked,

    Fill the thirsty,

    Shelter the wanderers,

    Give the needy,All the beautiful things of life

    I taught, you democracy would chase ignorance,

    Off the world, for without ignoranceSlavery may never exist

    I taught, you democracy can change human mind;

    Remove greediness from human life,

    Make man to love instead of hate,Build a classless society

    A society where no man is oppressed

    What we have now is not democracy

    But demo crazy, which has kicked,Us with more pains in our ass

    WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT.

    Dear friend, it is time to make a decision,

    About lifes true nature

    I want us to choose spiritual lifeI assures us, the spirit gives life;

    The flesh counts for nothing.

    What is the most important thing in your life?

    What is even better than food drink,Clothes and a place to stay?

    What is more important than education and job?

    Most of us value these highly, yet they help

    Life only during our stay in this fleshly body-Which is all too brief!

    Show me your one lifes end and the number of my days;

    Let me know how fleeting is my life.You have made my days a mere handbreadth;

    The span of my years is as nothing before you

    Each mans life is but a breadth.

    Beside the eternity of life, our years,Are as nothing, like steam from a boiling pot

    Compared with the total years of earths history,

    How long is your one life?

    WILL YOU BE ANNOYED IF I SPEAK.

    I cant keep quiet any longer

    You have taught many people

    And given strength to feeble handsWhen someone stumbled, weak and tired,

    Your words encouraged him to stand

    Now its your turn to be in trouble,

    And you are too stunned to face it

    You should have confidence and hope.

    Think back now. Name a single case

    Where a righteous man met with disaster

    I have seen people plough fields of evilAnd sow wickedness like seed;

    Now they harvest wickedness like seed;They roar and growl like lions,

    But he silences them and breaks their teethLike lions with nothing to kill and eat,

    They die, and all their children are scattered.

    ALL FLESH IS LIKE GRASS.

    All men (literally all flesh) are like grass,

    And all their glory is like the flowers of the field.

    The grass withers and the flowers fall because,The almighty breath blows on them.

    Surely the people are grass

    See the flower in full bloom:

    How delicate are its petals!

    How bright its colours! Yet theFlower quickly fades and withers away.

    See the young woman: she is like a flower,

    So fresh and so attractive yet thatKind of beauty never lasts all too soon,

    She is wrinkled and worn, like her aged mother.See the young man: how strong and handsome!

    He hopes to escape the way is father looks.He tries to be more healthy and fit.

    Yet is youth passes before long,

    He too looks old.

    He grows frail.Then he dies.

    He is buried in the same soil, as all is forefathers.

    No flesh, no matter how young or healthy,

    Is strong enough to escape the cycle of aging and death

    As much as we love and respect parents,

    We must realize that flesh gives birth to fleshFrom our fleshly parents we receive fleshly life,

    Which lasts a few short years, and then is lost.

    ANCIENT WISDOM.

    Look for a moment at ancient wisdom;

    Consider the truths our parents learnt

    Our life is short; we know nothing at all;We pass like shadows across the earth

    But let the ancient wise men teach you;

    Listen to what they hard to say;

    Reeds cant grow where there is no water;

    They are never found outside a swampIf the water dries up, they are the first to wither,

    While still too small to be cut and used.

    Godless men are like those reeds;They trust a thread- a spiders web.

    If they lean on a web, will it hold them up?If they grab for a thread, will it help them stand?

    Evil men sprout like weeds in the sun,

    Like weeds that spread all through the garden

    Their roots wrap round the stones

    And hold fast to every rockBut then pull them up-

    No one will ever know they were there.

    Yes, thats all the joy evil men have;

    Others now come and take their places.

    HIDE OR DECIDE.

    Many are so busy that they forget

    Their most important pressing appointment- death

    They never see that life can end at any momentOthers are aware, but death seems too horrible

    They hide in many places: parties and movies,

    That help them pretend; jobs that seem important;

    Friends that avoid serious thought;

    Even drink and drugs that twist realityHiding changes nothing you are flesh and so is your friend

    One of you will be laid in the ground if you both pretend,

    Neither will be prepared for such reality.

    The living one will be heartbroken at the lossThe dead will be gone forever.

    The dust returns to the ground it came from,And the spirit returns to him who gave it.

    I urge us to be wise before our turn comesIt is better to go to a house of mourning

    Than to go to a house of feasting,

    For death is the destiny of every man;

    The living should take this to heart.

    Going from one thing to another,

    Without a definite plan or purpose

    And without enthusiasm:Wandering around in desultory fashion

    Her people live in complete destitution

    With a government that is disequilibrium

    Lacking obvious source.

    Her people has been disemboweled

    And left with a disembodied voice

    With no body to disentangle the truth,

    From the official statistics,Things are no longer properly organized:

    After her disastrous election results,The opposition parties are in some disarray.

    There are signs of growing disaffection among her people.

    Some disaffected members left to form a new government

    Agitating for self government,Because some dipsomaniacs took over government

    Now the country is in a dreadful state of dilapidation

    Because her boss is a real dilly-dally dictator.

    WHEN THINGS ARE FINE WITH YOU.

    You will become friend to many from far and near,

    The roses will all be yours just at a beckon,

    Your relatives will increase in number.

    The gods will be on your side,

    Angels will continuously sing praises of you

    The saints will adore you.

    Your words will become orders,

    Your wrongs rights will all be,

    And your folly will become wisdom.

    Nobles will even stand for you to sit

    Kings and queens will offer you seat,Chiefs will like to dine with you.

    Yes, successful ones are friends of the world!

    Only those who succeed are good planners

    For the end has justified the means.

    But, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown still,

    Because not all who laughs with you are friends

    For whom the gods love seldom lasts.

    So, watch it, watch it fellow:

    Bin laden, the commander-in-chief of terrorists,

    Could have destroyed the earth.

    Men could have sized the air we breathe,

    Vegetations could have grown weary.

    The earth would have been conquered-

    Poverty and diseases could have been everywhere,

    Mighty erections that gladden the minds of those

    That may not see the inside would have spring up.

    Energy crisis could have been everywhere,Nuclear advancements everyday,

    Instability in world economy

    Armageddon could have approached,

    They could have been no peace period in history;

    Very far are we from the shore of disarmament:

    Bell of war rings all round,

    JUST WHAT IS LIFE

    Just what is life?

    Those whove not really seen,

    Claim to have;And those that have,

    Cannot say.

    A bundle of problems is what its made up of.

    For a smooth journey has no fascinating story to tell,And a life without problems has never been lived.

    That is its- ups and downs.

    The great ones put it in various waysBut, the sand of time it is,

    On which all struggle to set foot-printsSome really succeed others do not.

    Time and tide respect no one;

    The sunrise cant be hurried;

    But, the sun cant be stopped from rising either

    Thus indeed, life is just a continuous struggle.
