After winning the first two games 6-4 (Charlotte Amalie) and 11-1 (Centerville, VA), CSCA met fellow Broward County foe Pine Crest in the Semi- Final Game. After giving up an early 3-0 lead, the Crusaders trailed 5-4 entering the bottom of the 6 th . Some great AB’s and two sacrifice fly’s by Kevin Knapp and Dom Ferrusi gave CSCA the lead. Nick Lamberti finished off the win after going 4 and 2/3 strong innings in relief. In the Championship Game, CSCA couldn’t get the ball rolling early, stranding runners, and failing to make plays when they needed them; they were behind 4-0 entering the 5th. Zach Butler walked, Derek Barra hit a double and then Kyle Pitts hit a 2 RBI double to cut the lead to 4-2. In the bottom of the sixth, Luke Bramos got it started with 2 strike 2 out single up the middle. After a Zach Butler single and Barra getting hit by a pitch, Pitts hit an infield single and Kevin Knapp walked in a run to tie the game. Ferrusi then legged out another infield single that gave the Crusaders the lead. Corey Johnson had gone 4 solid innings in relief, and Knapp came in to close the game out for his 6 th save. Corey Johnson was named to the All-Tournament Team after throwing 9 in- nings total and giving up only one earned run. Butler was named the Big Stick of the Tournament after going 5-10 with 2 doubles. Pitts garnered his second straight Spring Break Tourney MVP with an impressive performance going 9-13 with 3 doubles and 6 RBI. Other key performers for the Crusaders were Billy Atkins (8 IP, 1 ER, 3-6, HR, 2B, 3 RBI), Luke Bramos (4-8 with 5 BB, reached base safely 9-13 times), and Derek Barra (5-10 with 3 doubles). It was a great team effort and gives the Crusaders some momentum heading into the State Playoffs. Congratulations to Coach Cleveland, the coaching staff, and all of the players! Mark YourCalendar CSCA won its Spring Break Tournament for the second year in a row going 4-0

and winning in the semi-final and Championship games with late inning come-back victories. After winning the first two games 6-4 (Charlotte Amalie) and 11-1 (Centerville, VA), CSCA met fellow Broward County foe Pine Crest in the Semi- Final Game. Barnes & Noble Event Night! Save the Date: Tuesday, May 17th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Come one, come all! Our annual Barnes & Noble Event Night will be held on Tuesday, May 17th, 5 to 9 p.m. at the Walk in Coral Springs. Plan to purchase your summer reading selections, enjoy some refreshments, and listen to great entertainment! Our choruses, jazz band, and our elementary classes are performing once again. (We always receive so many compliments!) If you are planning on purchasing a Reading Nook, please wait for our event! Our library receives a percentage of sales from this event and we are able to purchase books throughout our school year. Please ask your friends and relatives to attend! When you check out, please be sure to mention Coral Springs Christian Academy to your clerk. This also includes the café purchases. We will receive credit for purchases throughout the week from May 17th to May 21st. Track & FieldCongratulations to the members of the boys track team for their third district championship in a row and the fourth in five years!

Congratulations to our district champions in their events - Kent Lindbergh - 800 and Discus, Charles Pommels - Triple Jump, Nehemiah Thompson - Shot Put, Johnny Lipham - Pole Vault, Dean Wil-liams - 400, and the 4x400 relay of Charles, Johnny, Stanley Ramclam, and Kent. In all, we moved on all three relays and 22 entries in 13 of the 14 individual events.

The girls finished third in the district and Delise Williams won the 300 hurdles and Nicole Dibben won the Shot Put, as did the girls 4x100 relay team of Sarah Cayne, Raven Laurenceau, Nicole Fazio, and Alex Joseph. We qualified all three relays and girls into eight other events for the regional meet.

Qualifying for the state meet this Friday at Winter Park are Kent Lindbergh – 800 meters, Dean Williams – 400 meters, James Gonzales – 3200 meters, Nehe-miah Thompson – Pole Vault, and Delise Williams – Long Jump. Dean, James, and Abbie Slupecki in the 1600 meter run set new school records. The girls 4x800 relay team of Abbie, Nancy Lobe, Gabby Miranda, and Ymani Latty also set a new school record. Good luck to our state qualifiers!

CSCA’s Talent ShowcaseBegins April 4th and culminates with a

Finale on Thursday, May 5th, 2011We are pleased to announce our first annual CSCA Talent Showcase!

We are interested in a variety of entertainers to sing, dance, cheer, act, and perform their way into our hearts. Students K - 12th are invited to sign up. We hope that you will consider being a part of this wonderful event. Auditions will be held in grade level sections and only three winners from each section will be chosen to perform on the final night.

Grades K - 2nd auditions will be held April 4th & 5th starting at 3:15 pm.Grades 3rd - 5th auditions will be held April 11th & 12th starting at 3:15 pm.Middle School auditions will be held April 26th and 27th starting at 3:00 pm.High School auditions will be held May 1st & 3rd starting at 3:00 pm.

All auditions and performances will be held in the CSCA Chapel.Dress rehearsal for finalists will be Wednesday, May 4th.

The Finale will be held Thursday, May 5th. This will be held after the style of “American Idol.” The cost to audition is $15.00 Prizes will be given to the top four winners of the Friday night show.

If you would like your talent to be considered, please fill out the application form. We request that Mrs. Laser or Mrs. Young sign off on your application. Please remember that your act must be Christian in nature, age appropriate, and of entertainment value. If your song is secular, please attach the lyrics to the application form. Also, if you are singing, you must us a music track with no vocals or a karaoke track. No exceptions! We will have the stage and sound system set up. Please contact Mrs. Laser or Mrs. Young with questions.
