Widespread damage was reported to the kharif cropped areas due to incessant rains and flooding. In Bihar, the major kharif crop is paddy, followed by maize and vegetables. Satellite/Sensor: Resourcesat-2/AWiFS, Sentinel-1/SAR The maps indicate the probable kharif crop area and kharif rice area inundated due to the rainfall and flooding. Both maps pertain to two time periods of inundation - July 03 to July 23, 2020 and July 16 to August 07, 2020. Besides showing the inundated cropped areas, the maps also indicate the cropped areas that remained under water for 8 days (from July 16 to July 3, 2020). This product is prepared on rapid mapping mode for immediate use. This provides preliminary results. All geographic information has limitations due to the scale, resolution, date and interpretation of the original source materials.
