Corner

PTO PTO will be having a meeting on Thursday,

November 2nd at 5:30pm in the library.

Saturday Tutorials All 3rd-5th grade students are invited to

participate in Saturday tutorials. We provide breakfast, lunch, and a wonderful learning

experience. Teachers have sent home information with details. School doors open at

7am. Tutorials 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Kindergarten and Fifth Grade CogAT Testing

All kindergarten and fifth grade students will be taking the CogAT test on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. This test is one of the indicators

used to qualify students into the Gifted and Talented program. Please make sure students get a good night’s sleep, are in attend-

ance on November 7th, and arrive to school on time. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Leos nleos@houstonisd.org.

Get to Know Us This week we are getting to know our fabulous new third grade reading and language

arts teacher. Ms. London Watkins is Houston born and raised. She’s always had a passion for the arts which is why she attended The High School for the Performing Arts as a vocalist. She then attended, very briefly Louisiana State University, but ultimately transferred and grad-uated from the University of Houston – Central with a BBA in Mar-keting. Many people have asked her, “Why education?” It’s something that she holds near and dear to her heart. She’s so grateful and be-yond excited to be a part of this amazing team here at Crockett!

Colin Gregory is an enthusiastic 1st grader in Ms. Sakar’s class. He is po-

lite and eager to engage in fun learning activities. He is kind to his friends and often looks for ways to help his

teacher in class. He loves physical ed-ucation and especially loves baseball. Keep up that positive attitude, Colin!

5th Grade

We are excited for our 5th graders! They get to attend camp from November 14th

to November 17th. We know they will learn so much and

create many wonderful memories.

Tutorías de los sábados

Todos los estudiantes de 3º a 5º grado están invitados a participar en las tutorías de los sábados. Proporcio-

namos desayuno y almuerzo y una maravillosa expe-riencia de aprendizaje. ¡Los maestros han enviado

información con detalles! Las puertas de la escuela abren a las 7am. Tutoriales 7:30 a.m.-12: 00 p.m.

Pruebas CogAT para Kínder y Quinto Grado Todos los estudiantes de kínder y quinto grado tomarán el examen CogAT el martes, 7 de noviembre del 2017. Este examen es uno de los indicadores utilizados para calificar a los estudiantes en el pro-

grama para Dotados y Talentosos. Asegúrese de que los estudiantes duerman bien, asistan el 7 de noviembre y lleguen a la escuela a tiem-

po. Si tiene alguna pregunta, comuníquese con la Sra. Leos nleos@houstonisd.org.

¡Estamos emocionados por nuestros estudiantes de 5to grado! Asistirán al campa-

mento del 14 de noviembre al 17 de noviembre. Sabemos que aprenderán mucho y

crearán muchos recuerdos maravillosos.

Conozcámonos Esta semana estamos conociendo a nuestra maestra nueva de lectura y len-

guaje de tercer grado. La Srta. London Watkins es nacida y criada en Houston. Ella siempre ha tenido una pasión por las artes y es por eso que

asistió a a la escuela de bellas artes en Houston como vocalista. Luego asis-tió, brevemente, a la Universidad Estatal de Louisiana, pero finalmente se transfirió y se graduó de la Universidad de Houston - Central con un BBA en Mercadotecnia. Muchos le han preguntado: "¿Por qué educar?" Es algo que ella tiene muy cerca de su corazón. Ella está muy agradecida y más que

emocionada de ser parte de este increíble equipo aquí en Crockett.

Colin Gregory es un estudiante activo de pri-mer grado en la clase de la Srta. Sakar. Es educado y le encanta participar en activida-des de aprendizaje divertidas. Él es amable con sus amigos y busca maneras de ayudar a su maestra en clase. Él ama la educación físi-ca y especialmente el béisbol. Mantenga esa actitud positiva, Colin!
