THE HISTORY OF TRADES AND CRAFTS• 1852, the Chambers of
Trades and Commerce were founded in Zagreb, Rijeka and Osijek.
• The headquarters was built by Croatian tradesmen and craftsmen in 1939.
• July 1st, 1994 was the date of the Refounding Assembly of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts.

• promoting trades and crafts, • representing tradesmen and craftsmen interests
before state authorities and in the forming of economic policies,
• providing state authorities with opinions and suggestions when passing regulations concerning trades and crafts,
• assisting tradesmen and craftsmen in establishing and operating a trade/craft business,

• Advisory services for tradesmen and craftsmen are available every day, through, phone, e-mail, office visits, post or advisers’ visits to trade businesses.
• Advice is also provided to future tradesmen, especially advice on starting up a trade business, form of a business, a joint trade business, temporary suspension and obligations in operating a trade business. Technical advice spans from minimal technical requirements, intellectual property, safety at work, environmental protection, standards, food safety and product safety.
• Individual consultation of tradesmen is extended by professional information published in The Tradesmen Periodical and other Chamber’s publications and by consultations, conferences or seminars organized by Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts.
