Jamie Hyman “Babraham vs Thriplow Through Photography” 1st June 2013 I am Photographing a cricket match Between my club Thriplow cricket club and the rival team that we were traveling to face that week Babraham cricket club at their ground which I have decided to photograph as it is one of the more picturesque grounds in the county as well as this it also one of the best grounds in the country as it is very well looked after and always creates great games to watch. I wanted to photograph this event because with the nice setting it is always great to see the weekend life of the village cricketer and how a weekly meeting transcends into a competitive game in which one of the teams will emerge victorious. I want to take pictures of the game in full flow and as well as the teams in-between when they are all waiting to bat or preparing to face I want to create a linear sequence in which I start with the game with the ground and as the pictures continue to game in progression to the end when one of the teams are the winners of the game. I want to show the competitive side the game which is called a gentleman's game in which some games can heat and pressure starts to get to certain players and thats what I want to capture in this Photography. the location of the Photo shoot will be in Babraham home ground in the village itself the match starts at 13:30 but we always arrive half an hour earlier for everyone to get ready for the match so I will leave at around 12:30. the ground is very hard to find as their is no sign to ground and it is a little gap in a wall which you drive down to get to the ground. I will travel by car to get to the ground the route I will take to get will be to drive down to Shelford and then go down the A301through to Sawston and the turn off down Babraham road which leads on to Sawston road to get to Babraham and when you enter the village it is the second left in the brick wall which covers a lot of Babraham and is very easy to miss.

I am Photographing a cricket match Between my club Thriplow cricket club and the rival team that we were traveling to face that week Babraham cricket club at their ground which I have decided to photograph as it is one of the more picturesque grounds in the county as well as this it also one of the best grounds in the country as it is very well looked after and always creates great games to watch.

I will travel by car to get to the ground the route I will take to get will be to drive down to Shelford and then go down the A301through to Sawston and the turn off down Babraham road which leads on to Sawston road to get to Babraham and when you enter the village it is the second left in the brick wall which covers a lot of Babraham and is very easy to miss.

in this Photo-shoot I will be taking Hazards very seriously as this can

cause accidents not to my self but to others as well so I need to make sure that I fellow these rules that I am going to set myself so when it comes to the shooting day so all these lists of hazards that are all something to consider when it comes to the shooting day

Page 2: Cricket match photography document

• Loose cricket balls as their are many lying around because of people using them to practice fielding or batting with so I need to make sure they are moved so that i don’t fall over one or even someone else

• people are parking cars along the side of the boundaries and also their are also spectators who come along during the match to watch so I need to make sure that I not going to be in way of anyone or run into a car that is looking for a space

• the area has lot of loose equipment lying around such as rollers and lawnmowers that left around and can be hazard if someone was not be able to notice it the long grass so Make sure that I am aware of the equipment that is around.

to eliminate the risks I will need to go around the area to make sure that everything is moved and causing any hazards for me or for anyone else I will need to inform the groundsman that I doing this photography as well as telling him that I need to make sure the I need to do a safety check of the area so it’s safe for me and anyone else around with the car issue I need to make sure that are no cars that are leaving and also be clearing open so they can see me and be able to go around or I can move out of the way without any risk to anyone.
