Letter from the

O W N E RCricket Alley is a name familiar to most Wichita natives. In

the 1980s, my friends and I were frequent shoppers at this popular store. This boutique was known and loved by many, which was one of the reason’s I decided it was time for the name to be “born-again.”

A few years ago, I began a journey to find out what God’s intentions were for my life. As a soon-to-be retired hair styl-ist, I knew I wanted to continue to work with women for my next career. I had many ideas, plus a collection of little “clues” God was providing me along the way. In September of 2011, my husband and I inquired on a little farm house for sale on the corner of 17th and Tyler Rd. here in Wichita. With many prayers, and total faith in God’s direction, we purchased it a few weeks later. We knew this would be the beginning of our future ministry.

Cricket Alley, a “Born-Again” Boutique, opened on July 10, 2012. The boutique offers both recycled & brand new women’s clothing & accessories, plus Christian-influenced gifts. This provides a shopping experience for women of all ages and for all budgets.

I believe God has given me the gift of mentorship for women, coupled with my love of fashion and beauty. I enjoy mentoring the Cricket Alley Team, and together we reach out to women in need with kindness and compassion. Through the simple act of offering Godly insight, paired with fashion and beauty guidance, we can help women achieve their personal goals both spiritually and physically.

Our ministry is simple: Serve God. With Fashion. For Women.

WELCOME TOCricket AlleyIf you remember the original Cricket Alley, more than likely you have

fond memories. The new Cricket Alley has many similar charming attributes, such as the creaky wood floors, an eclectic mix of

women’s fashion, accessories and gifts, and the very memorable fragrance when you walk in the door. There is one big difference

between the original store and the new Cricket Alley: the new store is a “Born-Again” boutique. “Born-Again” meaning the store offers “reloved”, upscale women’s clothing, handbags, and shoes. “Born-Again” also reflects the Christian beliefs of the boutique’s owner,

Larissa Freeman, and her desire for Cricket Alley to be a ministry to others. Cricket Alley also offers brand new clothing, accessories,

candles, and Christian gifts. “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone,

the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

I started Hazel Grace Creations after having my daughter, Hazel. Making Hazel headbands began as a hobby. After posting some things that I had made online, I found that many of my friends and family were wanting me to make them hair accessories as well. With a lot of encouragement from family, I began to sell my items. I started with craft shows and eventually retailers, such as Cricket Alley, began to carry my items. I have been be-yond thrilled and completely blessed to have found a hobby that I love so

much and that little hobby has grown into an amazing business!

currently has 121 children in their home. The financial requirement to support each of these children is $175/month. This translates into five sponsor com-mitments of $35 each month. Currently 380 new sponsors are needed to meet the needs of these children.

On Sunday, January 5, 2014, there will be a Hope for Haiti event at Abode Venue from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. during which Yves Prophete will speak and share pictures of the orphans needing sponsorship. Tickets for the event are $25 each.

God sent Josh and Shannon to Haiti to change their hearts and He did. Would you like Him to change your heart too? Please join us on January 5 to explore the opportunity of touching the lives of these precious children with God’s love. For more information contact, Gloria Hamil at [email protected].

When you allow God an open door policy, it’s amazing what He does to your heart. In March of 2013, Josh and Shannon Alberg traveled to Fedja, Haiti on their first international mission trip. Their destination was the All God’s Children Orphanage. Each day of their stay included a dental clinic in the morning and Vacation Bible School in the afternoon.

When the Albergs accepted this mis-sion trip, they did not realize they would be blessed with new friends that would become their family – fellow mission-aries and loving orphans. Josh and Shannon have two daughters of their own but they soon found themselves adding to their family when they fell in love with Flancia and Jeffson Antoine. Having to leave this 13-year-old girl and 8-year-old-boy was heartbreaking but they knew they would return to see them again. The Albergs’ two daugh-ters pray with their parents each night for Flancia and Jeffson and speak of
