� Create new CE file – File > New > Type: Layout

– Empty with format, Browse, b.frm, Open, OK

� Sketch a corner rectangle– Use Precision Panels

• Absolute X,Y for first point

– (X=2, Y=10)

• X,Y; Width,Height; length, angle for second point

– Toggle with spacebar

– Change fields with arrow keys

» Width, Height = 3, -1.5

– Commit with Enter

� Ready to start another corner rectangle– Note Guides interactions with Touch Buffer entities

• Touch the sides of the rectangle to add to buffer

� Use the Sketching Aides Dialog– View > Aides > Guides & Precision Panels to open

– Enable / Disable Guides and PP's with check boxes

• Disable Vertical Guide and Precision Panels

– Note they do not appear in graphics

• Enable them again

– Pick <Tips> in the Guides & Precision Panels dialog

• Read tips on L, G, and P hotkeys

� Sketch a line and a circle– Experiment with Guides, the L, G and P hotkeys

• ‘L’ to lock / unlock a guide

• ‘G’ to hide / show a guide

• ‘P’ to hide / show the precision panel

� Format some geometry– Select entity or entities > RMB > Entity Format

– Change entity color, note color preview

� Drag geometry, note under constrained nature– Translate geometry

• Experiment with Shift-Drag to suspend snapping

• Drag line, attach to rectangle

– Move vertices

� Open tutorial2.cem

� Dimension a rectangle as shown– Annotate > Annotation > Dimension

– LMB entity > MMB to place the dimension

� Dimension between two entities– LMB entity > Ctrl-LMB another entity > MMB to place

• Right side rectangle to circle center - distance

• Bottom rectangle to line - angle

� Change Dimension– Double LMB 3.00, 4, Enter

� Use Zoomport– View > Navigation > Zoom Port

– Zoom into former rectangle

– Move Zoom Port focus area to title block

� Create an Unattached Note– Annotate > Annotation > Notes

– Place the Note in the sheet

– Type: "This is an unattached note"

• Notice that the Format tab is active

– Highlight "unattached"

• Notice the On Demand toolbar

• Select B to bold the highlighted text

– Select the note

• Notice the rotation handle

� Create a 5x3 Table on the sheet– Annotate > Table > Table

– Hightlight 4x3 squares

– Place in the concept model

� Create a Drawing Symbol– Annotate > Annotation > Symbol > Symbol From Palette

– Select the Caution Symbol

– LMB to place in the concept model

– Close

� Create New CE file with B size format

� Import some data– Data > Import > 203_61_8112.asm > Open

– Select cross-section: A,

– Yes, Intersected Components Only

� Rotate / Scale imported data– Design > Rotate Resize

• Rotate: -90 degrees

• Scale: 4

� Examine Structure Tree– Select components, assy's in tree to select in graphics

– Uncheck C16_SCHARGER_TUB in tree to disable

display

• Select and repaint is needed in this build

– Select SUPERCHARGER_TUB > RMB > Entity Format

• Select a color and close

� User Defined Tags– Pick the Plus Sign next to "Tag" in the navigator

– TAG_GROUP_1 > RMB > Rename

• NEW_BELT_PULLY_LOCATIONS

– Select the three circles as shown > RMB > Assign Tag

• NEW_BELT_PULLY_LOCATIONS

– Select and format these entities by using the Tag

� Property Tags– Pick the Plus Sign next to "Property" in the navigator

– Use the find tool to define membership in the tag

• Options: Build Query

• Rule: Property

• Criteria: Color, Specify by: Entity Format

– Pick Black, Close

• Pick Add New

• Rule: Type

• Criteria: Comparison: is equal to, Value: Arc

– Pick Add New

• Query Builder: Change the operator from "or" to "and"

• Preview Results

– Bug is present, should only select black arcs

• OK

– Property Tags are updated automatically

• Sketch an arc, Entity Format its color to black

• Select PROPERTY_GROUP_1

– Newly sketched arc is selected
