have been a Christian for many years. I gave my life to Christ when I was a teenager, but I was not fully

ommitted to living a godly lifestyle. As a result, I became infatuated with the world. I still “club” on certain

ights and engage in casual sex.

ecently, I led one of my best guy friends to the Lord. I invited him to attend church with me one Sunday, and

id. At the end of the service, my pastor invited people to the altar to receive salvation. My friend decided to

aved! I was so excited about his decision that I nearly skipped to the altar with him. My friend, John, is now a

orn- again Christian! That’s the good news. The bad news is that after church, while we were sitting in the

arking lot, he said, “Are you really, truly a Christian? The reason I am asking is because, according to the

ermon we just heard, you are not l iving a godly lifestyle.” I was shocked. I didn’t know what to say.

any times, it is difficult to distinguish Christians from worldly people. And this “blending” effect sets a pitifu

God. God has called us to live holy so we can see His promises come to pass in our lives. However, we cann

chieve holiness if we do not pursue it.

oliness is being of one mind with God. In other words, we must align our thinking with God’s Word. This can

nly take place through the process of renewing our minds with the Word. Our thoughts represent who we arell lead us to our ultimate destiny. Therefore, we must examine the way we think.

any Believers have the same views as the world. However, there should be a distinction between Christians a

orldly people. The reason many Christians receive the reputation of being hypocrites is because they have

ecome infatuated with the world. This is primarily due to a lack of knowledge concerning God and His promis

offer.

he Bible tells us not to fashion ourselves after this world (Romans 12:1-2, AM P ). Instead, we must transform

inking by reading, comprehending, and obeying the Word. When we do, we will no longer love the things of

orld. As a result, others will be able to identify who the real Believers are.
