CREDAI SIGNS MOU WITH CSDC

- To Certify 1 Lakh Construction Workers Under RPL 4 Program

CREDAI feels that the court should not stay the

construction activities as this will have a direct

implication on the jobs of the daily wage earners in the

industry while the GDP of the nation could also

suffer. Solid waste management is still a work in

progress and while appropriate action could be taken

by the concerned state authorities, the decision to stay

the construction activities may not be a definitive

solution to resolve the matter.

CREDAI as a development body has also undertaken

a pledge for green environment under CREDAI Clean

City Movement with its partner Developers to treat

solid waste management effectively. We will be happy

to collaborate with state governments in framing a

robust SWM policy framework which the fraternity

CREDAI Recommendations for GST to ensure

Housing for All

• 33% of sale value as deduction towards land is

inadequate for metro cities and other prime areas.

• Development rights, long term leases and

purchasable FAR are akin to land and should be

excluded from GST under Schedule III entry 5 of

CGST Act.

• GST on construction of SRA buildings for slum

dwellers and on rehab building for existing society

members should be *Nil* rated. If it is taxable, then

GST paid on SRA / Rehab buildings must be

eligible as credit to a developer.

• GST on commercial premises should be kept at 5%

• Benefit of exemption from payment of GST be

extended to leasehold rights of commercial plots as

already done in respect of industrial plots.

CREDAI Submitted Recommendations on Draft

Model Welfare scheme for Building and other

Construction Workers

• In pursuance of the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s

Order dated 19.03.208 in WP© No.318 of 2006,

the Ministry of Labour and Employment had

constituted a Committee for formulation of a

Model Welfare Scheme for welfare of building

and other construction workers.

• The draft Welfare Scheme has been placed on

the official website of the Government of India,

Ministry of Labour and Employment for perusal

and comments of the General Public and

stakeholders.

• CREDAI has submitted recommendations on

proposed Scheme to Joint Secretary and

Director General Labour Welfare and

Employment, Govt. of India on Aug 31, 2018.
