ABOUT

I am in my final year at University studying towards a BSc Digital Media degree.

After graduating, I would like to begin a career in design, specifically website design as it has been an interest and hobby since I was 10 years old and would make websites in Piczo and Freewebs.

I currently design and build websites for family and friends in order to add pieces to my portfolio when the time comes to look for work.

Eventually, I would like to become a freelance web & graphic designer.

INDUSTRY RESEARCH - WEB DESIGNER

A web designer is responsible for creating a site or pages, this includes the design, layout and coding, this can mean working on a brand new website or updating an already existing site.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Work on the creation, implementation, and delivery of various web-based solutions• Engage in all aspects of the product development process• Provide innovative, creative and robust solutions that meet and exceed client expectations• Use existing capabilities and develop new skills to contribute to the successful development of solutions that meet exacting requirements• Participate in client meetings as required• Test/debug and optimise final deliverables

CURRENT SKILLS

Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash.

Good knowledge of CSS and HTML 5

Some experience working with jQuery, MySQL and PHP.

Currently building experience in WordPress.

Able to manage projects well.

Confident and able to communicate well with clients and colleagues.

WEAKNESSES

Lack confidence in abilities.

At times struggle to ensure that every task I take on is moving ahead.

Lack knowledge of what industry require.

CV isn’t as detailed or as interesting as I’d like.

CREATIVE CV RESEARCH Here are some CVs I found interesting and intend on using to develop my current CV.

CURRENT CV

Made quite a long time ago.

Not as up-to-date as it could be.

Only features some info, not all.

A bit boring and has masses of empty space – layout doesn’t flow.

LOGO DESIGNS

I sketched my initial ideas then used it to create them in Adobe Photoshop.

I wanted to have a logo that incorporated my initials C D.

LOGO DESIGNS – FINAL DESIGN This is my chosen final design.

I feel that it achieves my aims of including a professional, good looking logo which includes my initials.

I do feel however that the colours used are slightly dull and will be working to change them.

BUSINESS CARDS

Having looked through various websites and read reviews from customers, I found MOO! to be the best and have ordered samples in order to decide the type of finish I’d like on my business cards.

DOMAIN REGISTERED!

A few weeks ago, I registered chloeadaniels.co.uk which will be the domain name for my e-portfolio.

I also bought an email account as I felt that I wanted a professional looking email address to put on my website and business cards.
