Road travel: India has a road network of over 2.9 million kms. National highways comprise of 34,608km and state highways 128,622km. Over the years Indian authorities have done much too enhance their highways, making travelling by road an enjoyable experience. Air travel: India's air network is comprehensive and very reliable with three major airlines, Jet Airways, Indian airlines Kingfisher Airlines and lowcost carriers for the cost conscious, servicing the network through all major cities and other remote places. Rail travel: India's railway etwork is incredibly extensive and is the third largest in the world. This mode of travel is truly an unforgettable experience and the best way to see the country unfold in front of you.

SEASONSThe best time to visit India is during the winter; this is true but only partly. India has 3 main seasons; winter, summer and monsoon. The winter months November to February have bright sunny days and are pleasant throughout India. Rajasthan and Southern India and beach holidays are particularly popular during this time. The hill states of Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir are also inviting for the many various winter sports available. The summer months April to June are hot in most parts of India and hill stations such as Shimla, Mussoorie, Nainital and Kullu offer cool relaxing hide outs with a range of adventure sports like, trekking, paragliding, and angling readily available. The monsoon is an amazing phenomenon of nature. Immersing the entire Indian subcontinent during the month of June through to September and enlightening everything in sight.

Ranging from extreme tropical heat of the south and central regions, tocooler temperatures in the north.

Day 02 : Shimla. After breakfast depart for Shimla by road which is (100kms/03hrs approx). Arrive and transfer to hotel Shimla is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. It is surrounded by pine deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Towards the north lie the snow covered high-ranges, while the valleys broad whispering streams and swaying fields. Within the town are a host of splendid colonial edifices, quaint cottages. Shimla holds a variety of shopping, sport and entertainment. PM Visit to the Mall, Shimla's Principal Promenade that runs along a ridge. Much that is reminiscent of the Raj is found here - stately mansions, and curiosity shops, Observatory Hill, Kennedy House, built in 1822 by Major Kennedy of the British Army, Scandal Point, scene of a legendary elopement and the Christ Church. 2 Kms from the Christ Church is Jakku Hill with a fine view of Shimla. Jakhu Temple is dedicated to Hanuman and is frequented by monkeys evening return back to hotel/resort for dinner. Overnight at Hotel

Day 03 : Shimla. After breakfast, Excursion to Kufri, Fagu Valley and Naldhera PM Return to hotel. Dinner at hotel, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 : Shimla. After early breakfast, depart for Manali by road which is 260kms/06hrs approx Enroute Visits Kullu valley -The most charming and beautiful Kullu valley spreads out its charm on either side of river Beas.Kullu was once known as Kulanthpitha, which means the end of the habitable world. Beyond rose the forbidding heights of the Greater Himalayas, and by the banks of the shining river Beas, lay the fabled 'Silver Valley'. The valley runs north to south of Beas River and is 80 kms. long and about 2 kms wide.

PM Manali: Arrive and transfer to hotel. Dinner at hole, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05: Manali. After breakfast Excursion to Rohtang Pass-51 Kms from Manali on highway tor Keylong/Leh. It offers a panorama and spectacular Mountain View. The pass is open from June to October each year although trekkers can cross it earlier. It is a gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Leh valley just as Zojila pass is a gatway to Ladakh. There are beautiful sights of glaciers, peaks and Chandra River flows down in the Lahaul valley. Slightly to the left are the twin peaks of the Geypan. PM At leisure Dinner at hotel. Day 06: Manali. After breakfast Visit to Hidimba Temple, Manu Mandir & Vashisth Kund, Naggar Art gallery PM Free for shopping Dinner at hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 07: Manali. After breakfast, depart for Dharamshala by road which is 253kms/06hrs approx Enroute visit Kullu shawl factory Dharamshala PM Arrive and transfer to hotel Dinner at hotel, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08: Dharamshala. After Breakfast, Visit Mcleod Ganj: The Budha temple is situated opposite to the present abode of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama and is worth a visit. There is also a Tibetan handicraft centre situated at Mcleod Ganj and a Sunday market is organized at about 10 minutes walk from here. Bhagsunag Falls: At a distance of 11 kms. From Lower Dharamshala, here an old temple, a fresh water spring and restaurant are located. Further about 2kms. Is beautiful Bhagsunag water falls which sooths one's eyes. Dal Lake: The Lake lies amidst hills and stately fir trees 11 kms. PM Free for shopping. Dinner at Hotel, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 09: Dharamshala. After Breakfast, Depart for Dalhousie by road which is 143kms/05hrs approx Dalhousie Arrive and transfer to hotel PM At leisure, Overnight at Hotel.

DaylO: Dalhousie. After Breakfast, Visit Khajiar - 23kms from Dalhousie by road and 13 kms from Kalatop is the mini Switzerland of India at a height of 6400 ft. Khajjiar is often referred to as "Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh". The lush green meadows are surrounded by thick pine and cedar forests. There is a small lake in the center of the saucer shaped meadow which has in it a floating island. A little away from the lake is the temple of Khajji Nag belonging to 12th C. AD. In the mandapa of the temple one can see the images of the Pandavas and the defeated Kaurvas hanging from the roof of the circumambulatory path. The sanctum of the temple has been beautifully carved from wood. Panchpula - Panchpula is Satdhara springs gurgling with refreshing water, believed to contain some medicinal properties. Panchpula stream water supply to Dalhousie and Bahloon.

SUBHASH BAOLI: Just approximatly 1 km from G.P.O. is a charming natural spot called Subhash Baoli. Neta ji Subhash Chander Bose during his 7 months sojourn in Dalhousie in 1937 is believed to have spent most. PM Free for shopping. Dinner at hotel, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 11: Dalhousie. After early breakfast, depart for Chandigarh by road (363 kms/08 hrs approx.) ChandigarhPMArrive and transfer to hotel, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12: Chandigarh. After Breakfast, City tour of Chandigarh-Visit the Rock Garden located in Sector 1, the garden has been developed by Mr Nekchand is built out of city garbage making it a unique place to visit. Visit the Museum and Art Gallery located in Sector 10; it houses an exquisite collection of paintings and sculptors. Also visit the Rose Garden which is in Sector 16, having nearly 1600 varieties of roses spread over 30 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, the Sukhna Lake located in Sector 1, which offers sports like boating, yatching etc & Capital Complex which is the administrative hub of the two states of Haryana and Punjab also in the same complex. Drive past the Central Business District located in Sector 17, the most fashionable area of the city. Day 01: Leh. Arrive at Leh airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Situated at the height of about 3,505 meters above sea level, Leh is the most common entry point to the Ladakh region. Day 02: Leh. After Breakfast. This morning enjoy an excursion to Khardung-la (18,380 ft.), one of the highest motorable roads in the world. It was the ancient trade route between India and Central Asia. Khardung-la is the gateway to Nubra Valley. Enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding mountains enroute which include Parcha Khangri, Stok Khangri etc. The road running parallel to Nubra River ends at Siachen base camp. Day 03: Leh. After breakfast, enjoy a full day excursion to Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Gompas. 15 km from Leh lies the Shey Gompa, situated on the top of a hill. It houses the largest victory stupa with a golden top. Two temples inside contain beautiful old paintings. Nearby is the Thiksey Gompa, with well preserved murals and a huge Buddha statue. A beautiful view of the Indus Valley and the Stok Range can be held here. 20 minutes away is Hemis Gompa, the oldest, wealthiest and largest Gompa in Leh housing beautiful paintings and stupas. Return to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 01: Delhi. Arrive at Delhi airport / station and depart for Corbett by road (297 kms/7 hrs approx). Corbett is India's finest park spread over 520 sq. kms, along the banks of the Ramganga River. Birds which can be spotted include Brown Fish Owl, Himalayan Kingfisher, Brown Dipper and Plumbeous/White-Capped Redstarts and many more. The rope-way with its brightly coloured cable cars takes devotees to the old hilltop of Mansa Devi. See Har ki Pauri, a sacred Ghat constructed by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhatrihari. Overnight at Hotel.

See Delhi's most curious antique, the uncorroded Iron Pillar, which dates back to the 4th century AD. Visit the Birla (Laxmi Narayan) Temple, with its many idols. Overnight at Hotel.

Breakfast at hotel, City tour of Old Delhi - the 300-year-old walled city built by Emperor Shah Jehan in 1648 as his capital and named after him. The magnificent Red Fort built of red sandstone dates from the very peak of the Mughal power. Within its walls are marble palaces and a grand audience chamber, the Diwan-i-Khas, where Moghul emperors held court and the Peacock Throne once stood. Red fort is closed to visitors on Mondays. Opposite the fort are the black and white onion dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. Drive past Kotla Rroze Shah, ruins of an old fort of the 14th century with the 13 metre high Ashoka Pillar of 3rd BC. Visit Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948. Delhi - Agra - Jaipur5 Nights / 6 Days

Day 03 : Delhi. After Breakfast Depart for Agra by road (204 kms/04 hrs approx.) Enroute visit Akbar's Tomb at Sikandr. This is the site of Emperor Akbar's mausoleum. It lies inside a large garden. Slim minarets of the imposing gateway sprout from a wealth of Mohall inlay work in stone. Each floor of the four-storied mausoleum is a series of arcades, tapering to a marble cloister, which seems to float on the top. Agra Arrive and transfer to hotel PM Half day tour - visiting Taj Mahal - the greatest love story ever told. On the death of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, in wild extravagance, Shahjehan built her this memorial, men laboured for over 17 years to build this wealth of white marble and precious stone. Visit Agra Fort - behind its forbidding red sandstone battlements lie palaces that tell the story of the Moghul Empire. The most impressive part of the Fort is the Dewan-e-Am, where the Emperor sat on his throne to dispense to his subjects, and the Dewan-e-Khas where he received foreign dignitaries. The Taj Mahal is closed to visitors on Fridays. A brief visit is also made to the marble inlay workshop- where one can see the art that went into the inlay work at the Taj Mahal. This workshop has brought back into India this almost forgotten art style, tomb of Itmad-ud-dullah, father of Queen Nur Jehan - a two storied tomb bearing mosaic in inlaid semi- precious stones. Day 04 : Agra. After Breakfast Depart for Jaipur by road which is (237 kms/05 hrs approx.) Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri which is 37 kms/01 hrs -West of Agra lies the ghost city\of Fatehpur Sikri - an epic poem in red sandstone, built by Emperor Akbarthe Great in 1569 and deserted 14 years later because its water supply failed. Its glorious courtyards and palaces conjure up dreams of the mysterious past. Buland Darwaza, the victory gate looms 134 feet high. There's the imperial Jamia Masjid, the tomb of Shaik Salim Chisti who predicted the birth of Akbar's son Jehangir, the Panch Mahal, a strange building which resembles a Buddhist Temple, a cloistered courtyard which was the Hall of Public Audience and the Pachchisi paved with black and white where the Emperor played chess using slave girls as figurines. Due to the fact that for most it's existence this city was deserted, damage to the interiors is minimum by the many different rulers that ruled after Akbar. Jaipur PM: Arrive and transfer to hotel. Day 01: Cochin . Arrive Station/Airport transfer to hotel City tour of Cochin - Visit the Mattancherry Dutch Palace - (closed on Fridays and public holidays), which was built by the Portuguese in 1555 and renovated by the Dutch in 1663. In the ancient rooms are 17th century murals that relate in vibrant color the story of the epic Ramayana. Visit a Jewish Synagogue-(closed on all Saturdays and Jewish holidays) in Jew Town and Fort Cochin Area - Legend dates Jewish trade with Kerala from the times of King Solomon. There are a couple of streets of picture-postcard houses out of another age, in 17th century Dutch and traditional Kerala styles. Visit St. Francis Church - (closed for visitors on Sundays from 08.00 to 11.00 hrs.) the oldest European Church in India. It has several antiquities including a wealth of records. These include a palm-leaf title deed the local Raja gave the Portuguese in 1503. See the Chinese Fishing Nets, along the tip of Fort Cochin unique to this part of Kerala and living symbols of a centuries-old Chinese influence on this coast. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Cochin, Munnar. Breakfast at hotel Depart to Munnar by Road which is (127 kms/04hrs.) Arrive and transfer to hotel, Munnar-Surrounded by lush green-carpeted tea and coffee plantations, Munnar is a picturesque hill station situated in the eastern part of Kerala, beautiful landscapes, cosy weather, and the smell of tea leaves make Munnar one of the most sought-after destinations in South India.
