12 colors in the traditional color wheel- 3 primary colors (red, blue, yellow)- 3 secondary colors (purple, green, orange- 6 tertiary colors (red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green, yellow-green, yellow-orange, red-orange)

Warm & Cool colors- Half warm colors (red-purple, red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, yellow)- Half cool colors (yellow-green, green, blue-green, blue, blue-purple, purple)

Analogous Color Scheme- 3 or more colors that are all next to each other on the color wheel (ex: red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, yellow)

Harmonizing Color Scheme- 2 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel (ex: green & blue-green)

Complementary Color Scheme- 2 colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel (ex: red-purple & yellow-green)

Split Complementary Color Scheme- 3 colors, first color and the two colors directly next to it’s complement (ex: blue, yellow-orange, red-orange)

Triadic Color Scheme- 3 colors equidistant from each other on the color wheel (ex: red, blue, yellow)
