Personal Information to Remember- Record in another retrievable location.

Go to www.weebly.com & sign up

• Add your full name, a personal email, and a password. Then click, “Sign up. It’s Free!” button.

• Write your password down to remember it.

Verify that you are human then click, “Ok, let’s go” button.

Title your site

• Your first name and then ePortfolio.

• Type: Education.

• Category: Other

• Click continue.

Choose Subdomain and URL address

• Click button on top option to use a subdomain. • Choose and type in your URL address. • If it is available, a green check will show. If not, continue

until green check shows. • Click continue.

Preparing Your Navigation Pages

• You will need to prepare 5 pages: – Welcome – Goals and Outcomes – Coursework – Outside the Classroom – Resume

• See next slides to prepare the pages.

Adding Navigation Pages

• Click on Pages on top Menu Bar.

• Click “Save Settings”.

• Click “Add Page.”

• Type, Goals and Outcomes.

• Click Save Settings.

• Follow these same steps to make the rest of the pages: Coursework, Outside the Classroom, and Resume Pages.

Security and Privacy

• As you finish your ePortfolio, until you are 18 years old, choose to be discreet about what you share in your ePortfolio.

• Do not provide the following: full name, complete address, phone number, email and any other personal informative information.

• Okay to share would be general information and photos: Examples would be pets, school and logo, surroundings.

• Remember that your information will change as you move from high school to college and you will take your ePortfolio with you to college.

Need to Hide ePortfolio from Search Engines

• Click Settings on Menu Button. • Choose Search Engine Optimization. • Check box by Hide Site from Search Engines. • Click Save at bottom of screen.

• Click Publish Button top right of screen

is shown. Write your URL address down. Exit out.

• Every time you publish, you will be offered to upgrade. Do not choose that option. It will cost you money.

• Publish your website often when in your working site so that changes and updates show on your URL address.

Welcome Page: Make it shine! Sample

• In the Welcome Section, explain what your ePortfolio is about and what can be found here . Discuss things about you.

Pictures” and drag to empty part of page.

2. Click on blue “click here to edit” and add, Welcome to my ePortfolio.

Click on gray “click here to edit” and add your instructions.

3. Do this twice with Welcome Title and About Me Title.

• To add pictures, click on blue box. An Upload file box will appear.

• Select Upload a photo from your computer. Choose your photo and click “open.”

• You can change color and make font size larger with the toolbar. The tool bar appears when you highlight an area.

• You can choose a different design for your Welcome Page, by selecting “Design” on top menu and then selecting one that you like.

• Drag “Multiple Columns” Element to empty space.

• Drag “Title Text” Element in left column. Add “Short Term Goals”.

• Drag “Title Text” Element again to right column . Add “Long Term Goals.”

• Drag “Paragraph” Element to each column and add short and long term goals.

• Drag “Title” element to bottom of page. Add, “SLCC’s Learning Outcomes”, enlarge the font, center it and bold it.

• Drag “Paragraph” element below the Learning Outcomes Title. • Copy and Paste “Learning Outcomes” from the following website:

http://www.slcc.edu/gened/eportfolio/students.aspx. When there, select and open the “ePortfolio Workshop Learning Outcomes Document.” Copy where the document indicates to copy and then paste it in paragraph in your ePortfolio.

Coursework Page Set Up • By using the Elements, add the title and instructions. Then create three

headings: General Education, My Major Courses, and Elective Courses. Add your Concurrent Enrollment Classes under correct heading.

• Click on “Pages” on top menu. Click “Add Page”. • Name the page for a class (FHS 2400) that you will be inserting your

work and adding your reflective comments. • Select “Hide page in Navigation Menu” • Click Edit Page Button.

• On hidden signature page use the title of your class (example: FHS 2400 Marriage and Family Experience)

• Click Multimedia top left of page. Choose and drag “File” below title.

• Click on “Upload new file”. You will select assignment from your personal computer or flash drive you want inserted and click open. Assignment (File) will insert to your ePortfolio page.

• Optimal: Prepare and insert a PDF document (file).

• Reflective comments: Using Elements, add title of “My Reflections” and then add 2-3 paragraphs of your reflections as to why you choose the assignment and how it has helped your overall learning.

• Select Coursework Page.

• Highlight course you are linking.

• Select link (chain) in Tool bar.

• Choose “Page on your Website” and select Hidden Page you created. Click Save.

• To Preview if link worked: Click publish. Click on URL. Click on Course in Coursework Page and see if it links to hidden signature page. If not, do linking steps again.

Other Navigation Pages

• The Outside the Classroom page is prepared in the same way as the Welcome page. You can add photos and videos to enhance the page. Share some of the learning that you do outside of the classroom

• Add your resume to your Resume page. Do not have your personal information on the resume that you insert while in high school.

Finishing ePortfolio A complete acceptable ePortfolio will contain the following: 1. 2-3 paragraphs in welcome page welcoming others to

your site. 2. A list of long term and short term goals and a list of

SLCC Outcomes in Goals and Outcomes page. 3. A finished Coursework Page with links. 4. At least 2 signature assignments that are linked with

reflective comments for each related SLCC class. 5. Examples of outside the classroom activities. 6. Completed up-to-date resume.

Adding Site to SLCC MyPage

• To Copy the URL (address) of your ePortfolio’s Welcome page: – log onto MyPage. – click on the student tab. – Go to bottom right of page. – Write or copy-paste your URL for your

ePortfolio into the ePortfolio channel. – click “save.”
