Why Use Templates?

• Templates are the source of product design in ProSelect. Storyboards,Cards, Books, Collages etc.

• Always used in the Layout Module or Books Module.

• Templates must be used for ordering most Collections and structuringspecific studio pricing.

3 Types of Templates

1. Traditional Matted Templates• Templates where ProSelect will only create (in HRP) the images within the

template holes as jpgs

2. Composite Templates• Templates where ProSelect will create (in HRP) the entire template as one

jpg.

2a. Overlay Templates (A type of Composite using .psd files)• Composite templates that make use of an imported Photoshop file that you

import into ProSelect.

Creating a Basic ProSelect Template

• Composite Type: The template will always becreated as the entire unit in Hi-Rez Production.

• Wall Grouping: Check this box if the templateyou are creating will be used as a series ofimages for use in Room View. (new to version4.1)

• Fixed Size: Check this box when the templateyou are creating will ALWAYS be that size only.For example the GNP wall folios that only comein specified sizes and you don’t want to scaleup or down. (new to version 4.1)

• Wrap Size: Determine A Gwrap canvas size.• Double Spread: Check this box when creating

a Book template that will be a double spread.• Overlay Image: Check this box to open the

ProSelect Resources Import window. This iswhere you import modified .psd files intoProSelect to create Overlay Templates

Applying Styles

Any standard template (Not an Overlay) can be altered in front of the client using Styles. Styles are colors, bevels, spaces and keylines that you can add to templates.

Templates>Edit Styles

Things to remember:1.The top-listed style is your default style. All templates will automatically get

this style when you open the template.2.2. Styles are copied to the template. So if you change the style you need to

apply the old one if you want to change it back.
