Creating a VRS Survey Style and GNSS Contact in Trimble Access 2018

Using an R10 as the Modem

1. Before starting, make sure the R10 is switched on and present. A T-Mobile Portal 2 SIM card is

used in this guide. If you are using a different SIM card you must use the appropriate details

for that SIM.

2. Start by creating a new job using the OSTN15 template and select Enter.

3. Go to Settings > Survey Styles

4. Select New.

5. Give the survey style a name (e.g. VRS) and select GNSS as the Style type.

6. Select Rover options.

7. Ensure survey type is RTK and broadcast format is VRS (CMR).

8. Scroll down and tick all the options in GNSS Signal Tracking, turn xFill and Tilt on.

9. Select Accept and then select Rover data link, choose type Internet connection and then click

the arrow next to GNSS contact.

10. Select New to create a new GNSS contact.

11. Enter your VRS username in the NTRIP username field and password in NTRIP password field.

Select Connect directly to Mountpoint and set the Mountpoint name as 15_TVN_CMR_X.

Scroll down and set the IP address as www.vrsnow.co.uk and IP Port as 2101.

12. Select Add to create a new network connection for the R10.

13. Give it a name and select the arrow next to APN and choose Select Access Point Name (APN).

14. From drop-down menu select Germany as the location and T-Mobile M2M-2 as the Provider

and plan then press Accept.

15. Select the R10 as the Bluetooth modem – if the receiver isn’t listed select Config and pair the

receiver in Windows. Use m2m as the username and sim as the password, the number to dial

is *99***1#. Press Accept.

16. Now the GNSS contact page should look like below, with your newly created connection

selected in Network connection. Press Store, Accept, Accept and Store again.

17. Now go to Settings > Connections > GNSS Contacts choose the contact previously created and

select Connect at the bottom.

18. You should hear ‘Internet connection established’ if the volume is on and there will be a tick

next to the GNSS contact once connected.

19. Go to Measure > VRS > Measure points to start the VRS survey.
