Create Medallion Website Instructions

The Create.Batesville website will be utilized to upload & print images needed to create the medallions. This is a Batesville developed website and will be accessible through Batesville.com.

The website will allow you to upload, crop and print the images supplied by families or access the Batesville supplied stock images for printing. You can also create & save Funeral Home or local favorite images that can be used with families


Access the create website through Batesville.com. Select Create Medallions from the drop down menu.

If you don’t have a Batesville.com user ID, please refer to the How to create a Batesville account user instructions to create an ID.


When you enter the Create Medallions site it will bring you to the Projects page. Here you will select New Project to get started.

Once you have created projects, you will see completed and open projects here. Projects will be saved and available for you to access in case you need to reprint medallions from past projects.


You will then select the size of medallion you would like to create either Display 4.25” or Keepsake 1.75”. You can also select the quantity and background at this step, or wait until the design screen to edit these options.


You will now either select from Batesville Stock images, Funeral Home Stock images (your favorites) or upload family supplied images.


Batesville Stock Images include a variety of selections including print versions of the standard corner designs as well as stock photography that depict various interests, hobbies and themes. All of these images are pre-sized to either display or keepsake and ready to print.


You can also upload images to the Funeral Home Stock Images tab. These are photos that you can retain to utilize in any project that you create without having to manually upload them each time. This could include pictures of your funeral home, your logo, or local images that you have legal rights to use. Copyrighted or protected images can not be used to create medallions.


To upload images to the Funeral Home Stock Image tab start by going to the Family Supplied Photos tab to upload the image. After uploading the image click the stock Image checkbox, the system will allow you to enter the Category and allow you to name the image. The image will then be available for future use within the Funeral Home Stock Images Tab.


Family supplied images can be uploaded or drag and drop from you PC. The upload functionality works similar to other applications. When you click upload it will take you to your files.

Select the image & then select upload. With this application you can only upload one image at a time.You must use the image to create the medallion before uploading the next image. If you upload more than one image it will not keep the additional images and require you to reload them. Copyrighted or protected images can not be used to create medallions.


Next it will prompt to determine how you would like to import the image for editing. You can select to Contain and it will keep the entire photo inside of the print area or Cover which will bring in the image in some instances larger than the print area. Either option will allow you to adjust the positioning and crop the image in the next step.

Click OK to proceed to

You can update the project name or utilize the default project naming structure. To update, click in the box and add the new project name.


On the Medallion Editor page you will be able to crop & adjust the image positioning. The image below shows the Cover option from the previous screen. You can click on the image and drag it around to position it into the green box and click on the corner of the image and shrink or grow it to position the image within the green box. Only the parts of the image inside of the green box will print.


If necessary on this page you can change the size of the image and it will automatically resize the image to the new style. You can also adjust the quantity and if necessary add a background color. If the image does not fill the entire area you can utilize a background color that compliments the image to fill in the unused space behind the image.


If you would like make another medallion with the same image you can copy this image to use for creating another medallion. Ex. created a display medallion & also need a keepsake. Hover over the image in the pane on the left until a the blue clone medallion icon appears. Click the blue clone icon and it will automatically create another medallion. You can then adjust the size of the additional medallion or make any necessary adjustments.


To add a new image to the project, select the + in the pane on the left. If the image selection screen does not display, select the Add Image button in the pane on the right and it will take you to the image selection screen.


You will again be prompted for the style or size of the medallion that you would like to create and return you to the select either stock images or upload another photo from the family.


When you upload another family photo you will return to the upload page where you will see the image that you loaded originally and the new image that is uploaded. With this application you can only upload one image at a time. You must use the image to create the medallion before uploading the next image. If you upload more than one image it will not keep the additional images and require you to reload them. Only the images that you have used to create medallions will display here. You will then select Contain or Cover to proceed to the Medallion Editor page by selecting OK in the bottom right corner.


The image demonstrates the contain function selected on the image import page. This keeps the entire image in the print area. You can then click the corner of the image to shrink or grow it or add a background to fill the open area.


You can also add multiple images to the same medallion. To do this, click Add Image in the pane on the right. This will prompt you to upload an additional image.


You can then size and adjust the positioning of the new image or the existing image to position both images in the green print area. Just click on the image to make any adjustments.


As needed you can add a background color to the image to help fill any open space. To add the background, click on background in the pane on the right and then select the color. You can continue to adjust the color as needed.


Once you have completed your edits, you can select Preview to see a sample of the of the medallions you have created. By selecting Print on the Preview page, the system will generate a pdf of the preview page. Once you are ready for the final output, close the Preview page and Select Print.

IMPORTANT: once you select print you are no longer able to edit the project. If you need to make edits to the images, medallion size, quantity or background color you will not be able to do so. Once you select print it closes out the project and saves it for future access. You can still return to the project to print but no additional updates. To make any edits to the project see the instructions for Copying a project.


The output created will include a summary report or proof that can be used to verify the quantity, medallion size and images used. This can be provided to the family or included in the case file.

The medallion image output will be grouped by image size so that display medallions and keepsake medallions each print together.


If you would like to send the summary / proof to the family for review before printing or creating the medallions you can save the output as a pdf file and send it to the family. To create a pdf you can change the destination from your printer to “save as PDF” it will then prompt you for a file name and where to save the file.

You can either print directly or you can download the pdf.

You can download the pdf and open it in Adobe reader. Using Adobe reader you will have the ability to modify additional print setting if that is necessary.



Once you select print you are no longer able to edit the project. If you need to make edits to the images, medallion size, quantity or background color you will not be able to do so after printing. Once you select print it closes out the project and saves it for future access. You can still return to the project to print but no additional updates. To make any edits to the project you will need to create a copy of the project. Under the actions column select the Copy function. This will take you into the new project. The project name will be the original project name plus the wording (Copy). You will then be able to make any necessary adjustments to the images or print quantity.


To create a new project, select New Project in the upper right corner.
