Amp FOR JO^EJose Hernandez is ono of the most ded

icated, intelligent, and pramising youngmen in the Yanez congregation in cuburhsnGuadalajara. Jose is handicapped in thatho had one of his hands blovni off by ahuge firecracker at a Roman Catholic fba-tival when just a childf.

Last summer, l-Jir. Ralph Ncely .$ind hiswife, active members of the AjidorsfisnFerry Church of Christ in Cincinnati, GW,visited Guadalajara and worshipped wiiius at Yancz. Ir* Nocly noticed Josfc'ghandicap but made no comment at the tijaoand shortly the Ncclys left for hcaac.

Some i/Goks later, Ed Craiidcll received a letter from Ir. Eocly, stating thatho wanted to do soraething so that Jos'ccould have an artificial liand, and ifaccessary, would see that funds wcro provided to have Josb come to Cincinnati tobo fitted with one of the latest dovicos.available. Vrnen told that Josb*a family was very poor and that mission fundscould not bo used for this purpose, llcm-^ccly immediately responded by advisingus to got things in order on this end,ahd ho Trould take care of the needs onthat ond».

An anonymous friend of the Crandcllsprovided funds for X-rays of Jos6*s armand the tuition for Josd to take Englishclasses at the Cultural Institute, sothat ho could at least commTonicatc"poquito" while in Cincinnati..

In July, the Ncclys \;ill come part(/ay into l^Dxico, and Jose will ride thebrain to meet them# They will travel together back to Cincinnati, where Jose
