McQueen’s Cyber Luxe – After four seasons at the helm, Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton really came into her own with the label’s fall 2012 preview presented during the second to last day of Paris Fashion Week. Voluminous mushroom-like shapes dominated the catwalk complete with ruffled capes, fur-adorned sleeves and organza covered gowns.
Louis Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs celebrated the label’s heritage with an accessories driven , presentation shown in a turn of the century train station set. Each model walked down the runway with an uniformed porter by her side, carrying her luggage and bags.

Paris Fashion Week 6
Yves Saint Laurent creative director Stefano Pilati presented his final collection. It was announced a week ago that the Italian designer would leave the iconic brand after being at the helm since 2004. Black was the dominate color for autumn with sleek, body conscious shapes cinched at the waist and made of mostly leather.
Always known for its elaborate sets, the fall 2012 collection from Chanel made its debut against a backdrop of oversize crystals. The crystal theme was in fact a major motif of the autumn collection with models donning icy eyebrows, raised crystal patterns and lucite shoes paired with translucent heels.

Called The Diamond Bathtub, this spectacular creation wears a price tag that’s
heavier than that of a average man’s house. But the good side is that part of the
money will go to the Breast Cancer Research or to any other foundation the buyer

NORDMAN AUTODIDACT FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER.
Lior considers his lack of formal education to be a benefit, as his inspirations are “completely private and genuine, but original.” He was able to find his passion and personal style, and indeed his life’s work, on his own terms. “Fashion has always been an interesting world for me. The textures, shapes and colours capture my eye and my attention. The power of fashion lies in everyone’s life. You can meet fashion everywhere you look or go.”
www.liornordman.com
25
LIOR
Lior describes his rise in the world of fashion photography as a “crazy ride.” He works with international magazines such as HARPER'S BAZAAR, MARIE CLAIRE, ELLE, ALL, WOMAN'S HEALTH, COSMOPOLITAN, TRENDSETTER, CHEW, and his client list spans the globe, from America to Europe, from Africa to Turkey.
26
“In my opinion a woman is the real power that drives the universe. When I photograph, I will always make my object bigger than life,
beautiful and powerful, almost unreachable.” Lior Nordman
One could say that Israeli-born Lior Nordman was destined to be a fashion photographer. While shooting location shots for a college communications science course, Lior found himself in the middle of a demonstration. He turned his borrowed camera on the demonstrators, submitted the photos to a local newspaper at the encouragement of a friend, and the newspaper editor asked for more photos. At that point, Lior decided, “like everything in my life, to go with my heart.” He acquired a camera and purchased a basic photography book published by National Geographic to learn the basics, and the rest, as they say, is history.

MICHELLE PALMER Michelle Palmer’s passion for acting started on the stage and has continued in film and film
production. In 1997, she had life-changing brain surgery that has allowed her to do all the
things she never could before. Michelle has modeled for print on several occasions and worked
on-site photo shoots for photographers, and she started to pursue her dream to be an actress
in 2000. Since that time, she has done several stage productions and landed a lead role in a
TV pilot. She has also had principal roles in three films, one of which she also
executive produced, and that film debuted at the Staten Island Film Festival in New York 2010.
Photographer: Mike Botman 28
Michelle executive produced a feature film in 2010, and she is now producing another feature
film called "Stilettos” which was co-written by John K. Fiore and Ron Aberdeen.. ’Stilettos’ will
keep you on the edge of your seat,” Michelle reports, “as the film takes all kinds of twists and
turns. The ‘good’ guys and ‘bad’ guys try to hunt down over $50 million in jewels that were last
seen on the catwalk being showcased and worn by some very smart, sassy, beautiful models
with the look of gentle persuasions. It brings much excitement to the screen for the audience
with an ingenious, comedic element that will cap off that adrenaline rush you'll experience
throughout the film.”

The Famous Tori Tori
Japanese Restaurant in Polanco
– Mexico City
The Polanco area of Mexico City has experienced some major transformations during the last few years. Houses have become
offices and restaurants, a transformation that is not always noticeable as these new spaces kept the façades of the old
buildings intact.
TORI TORI
38
Tori Tori, a well-known Japanese restaurant in Mexico City, was moved from its original location in Polanco to a bigger location in the same area. Fortunately, architect Michel Rojkind and industrial designer Hector Esrawe had the foresight and creativity to transform the space inside and out, keeping only the parking lot unchanged.
Although the clients requested a Japanese design, the architects
thought it would be better to create a modern and cosmopolitan space
with a powerful impact. A beautiful terrace, which serves to connect the
outside with the inside, is surrounded by lush, native foliage.
The dramatic façade and landscape design give the restaurant its own
personal style.
39
The façade, which seems to emerge from the ground and swallow up the entire
building, is made of two self-supporting layers of steel plates which filter the light
and offer distinctive patterns and shadows.

TORI TORI “We seek in the project a chance for the users to link with
the different ambiances and choose their favorites. Each
space’s materials, setup and characteristics towards the
furniture generate a wide spectrum of options and
sensations for its assiduous clients.”
Héctor Esrawe, Designer, ESRAWE studio

Lamborghini Yacht Concept
by Mauro Lecchi
So you’ve got the car, you’ve got the watch, and you’ve got the attitude. But how about upgrading your Lamborghini collection even further?
It’s only a concept right now, but consider the Lamborghini concept yacht by Mauro Lecchi. Angular like the super rides, this luxury cruiser will be crafted to perfectly combine high performance and low fuel consumption. For this, three different engines have been taken into consideration: 2×700 hp Volvo Penta IPS 900 diesel, 2x (3x) 550 hp v 12 – 60 ° Lamborghini petrol, 2×950 hp diesel Seatek. 44
All the luxury amenities one could ask for are most likely already part of the plan. A bar and entertainment center, a protected lounge area on the foredeck, special owner room, and en suite guest bedroom are all probable features of this new luxury cruiser. Stay tuned for updates about this exciting new offering from Lamborghini.
The cabin of the yacht features large overhead glass which gives it an enhanced modern appearance. The hull is expected to be 15 meters long, 4 meters wide and 3.8 meters high. For some weight reduction, the lamination will be made of carbon fiber or Kevlar.
45
On March 6, after presenting a fall-winter 2012-2013 fashion line, Karl Lagerfeld introduced a new Chanel boutique on Avenue Montaigne. Paris.
Karl Lagerfeld Introduces New Chanel Boutique, Paris
46
What could top a Chanel boutique on the elegant Montaigne Avenue in Paris? How about a second Chanel boutique right across the street? The new 6,500 square foot luxury space designed by Peter Marino is the second of three Chanel boutiques planned for this short block. The older property will undergo renovations later this year.
47
Marino reflects that the new unit “raises the bar” in terms of elevating retail space to that of design work completed in private homes of elite clients. Details like silk embroidered curtains with patches of pearls or tiles of metallic leather and gold tweed print carpets in the shoe salon provide an experience never before seen even in luxury boutiques.
The boutique features artwork by Olga de Amaral, Ingrid Donat, Peter Dayton, Jean-Michel Othoniel, and Johan Creten. Among the stunning pieces are a kneeling deer with crystal accents and a futuristic gold-leaf chair. A glass necklace adorns the white marble staircase, which leads up to three rooms dedicated to ready-to-wear.
48
49 49
Chanel is now working both sides of the street on Avenue
Montaigne, one of the French capital’s most revered luxury
addresses, at No. 51, and across the street at No. 42.
The original store will continue to exist even after the
opening of the new space.
