Dear Colleagues,
Mayo Clinic’s heart program is commemorating its 100th anniversary as one of the largest, most integrated programs in the world. In the intervening 100 years, amazing developments in the understanding and treatment of heart disease in all of its manifestations have occurred. We are proud of the many contributions by Mayo Clinic cardiology and cardiovascular surgery staff to the field of cardiovascular diseases.
While Mayo Clinic is honoring its sesquicentennial anniversary in 2014, Mayo Clinic’s cardiovascular specialty was formally recognized in 1914 when the first electrocardiogram (ECG) was performed. Since then, Mayo Clinic’s heart program has focused on pioneering and perfecting techniques that have advanced the treatment of heart conditions around the world.
Thank you for joining us at this educational offering in 2015. We remain committed to our mission of excellence by providing unsurpassed care to every patient through integrated practice, education, and research.
Sincerely,
Charanjit S. Rihal, MD, MBA Chair, Division of Cardiovascular Diseases Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota

Welcome to
Mayo Clinic Satellite Educational Symposia
at 2015 ASE Scientific Session
We are delighted that you are participating in this continuing education program.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This program will include short case presentations illustrating the use of novel echocardiographic techniques
followed by concise, clinically relevant discussion. The faculty consists of experts in echocardiography, with a
focus on 3-D echocardiography, strain imaging, and contrast echocardiography.
OBJECTIVES
• Review the importance of comprehensive echocardiographic evaluation, including 3-D, contrast, Doppler,
and strain
• Examine the benefits of echocardiography improving quality and value in a busy echocardiographic
practice
• Demonstrate the role of 3-D echocardiography in guiding interventional procedures
• Review the role of strain imaging in cardio-oncology and in the assessment of cardiomyopathies as well as
in the evaluation of right ventricular function
EVALUATION
The CME program evaluation can be accessed via a link which will be emailed to you following the activity to
the email address provided to the American Society of Echocardiography. The CME activity evaluation is
brief and will only take a few minutes to complete.
Your feedback is very important to us and will be used for planning future programs, as well as identifying
faculty strengths and opportunity for growth.
