TRANSCRIPT
As part of the consortium we are committed to providing training that ensures drivers are capable of undertaking their duties in an informed manner, focused on safety, economy, and the needs of the company. We treat the driver as a professional, drawing from his or her own experience ensuring that all our course material is relevant to everyday working situations.
Training is, of course, a great benefit to any company, but can be an inconvenience to everyday operations. We work with you to ensure that you get the best from the course modules, whilst causing the least amount of disruption to your operation. We will also spend time planning how we can incorporate any bespoke company information into the syllabus.
Our courses are themed to ensure that the driver has a mechanism for remembering the course content. We use models and scenarios to provide realism. This has the added benefit that the courses remain interactive and interesting. We provide feedback to the company on the results of our unique testing approach, so you can be assured that the information has hit it’s mark.
To discuss your training needs in an informal consultation please call us on the numbers listed on the back cover.

What is the driver CPC?
The driver CPC was introduced by European Legislation on the 10th September 2008 for D Class licence holders (coach & bus) and on the 10th September 2009 for C Class licence holders (LGV). Existing Drivers (with a few exceptions) now have to complete 35 hours periodic training in a 5 year period. The training must cover the minimum requirements of the legislation on subjects such as road safety; fuel economy; regulation; health & safety; service and logistics. It depends on the training companies interpretation of the regulations as to how they deliver the training.
Why are we different? We are committed to delivering excellence to our
clients which is why we deliver the IN suite of
courses. The training suite has been specially
designed to deliver 100% of the CPC legislative
requirements whilst allowing time to include other
best practice and mandatory training that drivers
need from time to time. The half day CPC core
module covers key aspects from all of the
objectives of the EU directive and can be delivered
annually as a refresher course along with one of the
half day technical modules if a company so wishes.
Up to two days of bespoke industry specific
training, normally taken outside of the 35 hours of
CPC periodic training, can be taken as part of the
syllabus without detriment to the minimum
requirements of the legislation. Companies can
also opt for their drivers to gain an Emergency First
Aid at Work qualification as part of the programme.

When should drivers complete their training?
The first 35 hours of training should be completed before the 10th September 2014. Existing drivers will lose the right to drive if training is not completed by this date. Drivers must take blocks of training which are no less than 7 hours duration. We recommend spreading the burden of 5 days training over the five year period by completing one 7 hour course per year. The advantages of this are as follows:

xistence - Imagine reading the headlines on the front cover
knowing that one of your drivers was involved. What if you could
do something to try and prevent it. The story on the front cover
actually happened; the victims were family members of one of
the directors of . This inspired the development of the unique
training programme, which aims to create the safest drivers on the road
and reduce the number of headlines like this.

reedom - New corporate manslaughter rules mean that not only
drivers face imprisonment for causing death on the road, but so
do the directors of companies. Other offences also carry prison
terms. We ensure that our trainees are aware of the law and the
penalties for breaching it. We do this not just once in the five year period,
but every year - so that drivers who have taken our courses are inspired not
to cut corners.
ncome - Drivers who are prosecuted for even minor offences find
it difficult to gain employment. Drivers who are convicted of
serious offences find it almost impossible to find work. The aim
of our CPC Driver Training Programme is to minimise the
possibility of drivers being caught out through lack of knowledge or
ignorance of the rules. Our training modules are unique, designed
specifically to ensure your drivers are amongst the safest, most
professional and efficient on the road.
ivelihood - Companies value their drivers. Companies value
their business. European legislation now insists that drivers
complete 35 hours of periodic training in a five year period on
subjects such as safety, fuel economy, regulation, health & safety,
service and logistics. These subjects, if taught in the correct way can
improve the way your company operates. courses are designed
with the employer in mind, ensuring that bespoke company information
can be taught to your drivers whilst they are undergoing their regulatory
training.
INATIV
nlightened - We treat drivers as professionals, experts in their
fields. We strive to ensure that our training courses are aimed
at the right level so that they are both interesting to attend and
extremely informative. We aim to build on existing knowledge
and build real life experiences into our courses ensuring that
attendees feel that they have learned useful skills which can be
immediately applied to their everyday jobs.
alued - Our training does not just concentrate on the legal
aspects of being a driver, nor does it just address the CPC
legislation. The training programme is a suite of
complimentary courses that teach the driver to be more
professional, fuel efficient and an ambassador for your
company.
nnocuous - Our training is designed to ensure that the driver
takes into consideration all the risks involved in driving an LGV
and deals with them accordingly. This ensures that he or she
remains out of harms way and doesn’t cause harm to others.
egal - Our programme ensures that the drivers who train with
us are fully versed in all aspects of the law and are prepared
and equipped to fully uphold it during their normal working
life.
Our package of training modules is designed to give maximum flexibility to the company whilst adding value. Drivers cover all of the topics in the legislation and carefully selected additional modules during their 35 hours of periodic training. This reduces company costs and decreases driver downtime. Great care has been taken to create an enjoyable programme for candidates to ensure that the maximum benefit is gained from the learning experience.
We generally recommend that drivers spread their periodic training over the five year period rather than trying to complete it in one block session. We take a consultative approach to determining the current needs of your company when helping you structure your training and are always willing to talk to clients about bespoke training needs which can be delivered as part of the syllabus.

Don’t lose your LIFE LIVE
You hear it on the news all the time… You kind of get used to it… You think, ‘I can’t imagine what that must be like for the
family…’ Then you get on with your life.
A young family of four were killed on the A34 near Oxford when they were hit from behind by a lorry, crushing them beneath a car transporter. A police spokesman said they would have died instantly.
The lorry driver has been arrested, having admitted that he fell asleep at the wheel.
Memories….
All their relatives have now are memories.
Memories of a beautiful family, wiped out before they could even say goodbye. 30 tonnes takes a great deal of stopping at 40 miles per hour.
The memories of the 4 hour struggle to free the victims bodies will live on in the minds of the rescue team forever.
The driver will have to live with the memory that he caused the deaths of four people. For his family, there will be the hurt and pain of the prison sentence.
Maybe, if CPC training had been introduced earlier it could possibly have prevented something like this happening.
How would something like this affect you and your family?
