COVID-19 Precautionary Measures Dear Colleagues COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization earlier this week. I’m sure that you may be feeling overwhlemed by the rapidly increasing anxiety and in some instances, panic, around the virus – which has unfortunately claimed more than 4,900 lives. However, it is critical for each of us to educate ourselves on the facts pertaining to the virus and to remind ourselves that more than 52% of those infected, have already recovered. Please know that your safety is of utmost importance to us and we are committed to supporting you in your journey of wellness. As at 13 March 2020: At least 134,000 cases of infection have been reported across 127 countries. Travel Restrictions It is with this in mind that we have put in place the following travel restrictions. International Business Travel Restrictions on ALL international business travel (including Botswana and Mauritius). All such travel should now be pre-approved by your executive and should only be for business-critical purposes. Where such business travel occurs, a mandatory 14-day self-isolation/work from home approach is required upon your return. Local Business Travel Currently we are not placing any restrictions on local travel. Personal Travel If you or a direct family member has planned an international trip, please advise your line manager. International travel for personal reasons is not recommended given the heightened risk. Upon your return a mandatory 14-day self-isolation/work from home approach will be required. You may return to the office after clearance is received from a health professional, which will need to be submitted before your return. Please note that the 14-day self-isolation/work from home period includes responsible isolation from all public spaces. Travel Declaration We have developed a very short employee declaration to determine who may be at a higher risk of becoming infected with COVID- 19 and to ensure that we reduce the possibility of potential transmission within our workspaces. We would also like to urge you to share additional contact details as part of this questionnaire, in order for us to contact you in the event of an emergency. CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE TRAVEL DECLARATION Please remember that some of the measures that are key to beating COVID-19, include: Hand hygiene Respiratory hygiene Social distancing As a precaution, we wish to assure you that we are working very closely with our facilities management, health, safety and cleaning teams to: Disinfect each of the Bryte offices: Marshall Street and Durban Glasshouse will be deep- cleaned this weekend. The remaining offices will go through the same process in the coming weeks. Regularly clean common areas: By sanitising kitchen surfaces, door handles etc. c Encourage hand hygiene: Sanitisers have been distributed to all employees and dispatched to every entrance and every floor. Communicate information around hand hygiene and other important safety practices. Maximise the use of technology (Microsoft Teams, Skype and other video and audio- conferencing tools) to conduct internal and client meetings to enable business continuity.
