HowCOVID-19Spreads?

•  ThevirusthatcausesCOVID-19diseaseisspreadfrompeopleinfluidandindropletsscaEeredfromthenoseormouthofaninfectedpersonwhenthepersonwithCOVID-19coughs,sneezesorspeaks.Thefluidordropletslandonobjectsandsurfacesaroundtheinfectedperson.Otherpeoplecontaminatetheirhandsbytouchingtheseobjectsorsurfacesandthenbringthevirusintocontactwiththeireyes,noseormouthbytouchingthemwiththeircontaminatedhands.COVID-19canalsospreadindropletsfromaninfectedpersonandlanddirectlyonmucusmembranesintheeye,noseormouthofapersonstandingclosetothem.

•  Whilepeoplearemostlikelytopassontheinfec+onwhentheyhavesymptoms,currentinforma+onsuggeststhatsomeinfectedpeoplespreadthevirustootherspriortodevelopingordisplayingsymptomsthemselves.

• ItisrecommendedthateveryComhaltasUnitshouldhaveaCovidSupervisor(s)whohasanunderstandingofthiseduca+onalmodule.• TheComhaltasUnitwillcommunicatethedetailsoftheappointedCovidSupervisor(s)toallmembersoftheComhaltasUnitandensurethattheappointedpersonreceiveallnecessarysupporttoundertaketherole.
